In short: Just about as tough as they come but hugely enjoyable
In full: This was my 3rd attempt at the Rugby Rover and I think the course is now winning 2:1! I knew what to expect but what with the temperature and the humidity it made it one tough day. The hills were as expected and it was great that the kissing gate at the start had "mysteriously" been removed this year. So no immediate bottle necks.
Still a great race even with the mud, cows, hills, heat and humidity.
Think I will have to put a bit more work in next year but I will be back!!

In short: It really hurts ...
In full: Very challenging but great fun and worth every bit of pain. Take the time to look around you and remember why you go running. Makes an excellent training run for autumn marathons too.
Very friendly and plenty of marshals

In short: Great off road event
In full: Great day out as allways my 10th one. Use it as training for Snowdon marathon, its a race to enjoy running, dont be bothered by the odd queue at stiles ect its not that sort of race, I do plenty off fell/trail racing in the peak as far as course marking goes this is right up there no chance of getting lost, In that respect could be a good intro for those thinking off doing some longer distance fell racing,

In short: Great atmosphere and scenery - and one of the hardest races I have done
In full: Second time around this year. Still came in the last handful of people, but might have to do it again next year! Love the anniversary t-shirt. Very supportive and friendly marshals encouraging us round. Lovely countryside and views.

In short: Restored my faith in long trail races
In full: Great day out. Great org, briefing, route very well marked and marshalled even with police helping at the 2 road crossings. Had everything from fields, woods, tracks, lanes and all those styles and slip-throughs were great fun even if i did get stuck in one!! great training run for endurance and best run as that to really enjoy it.

In short: Hilly, multi terrain, challenging, scenic. Did I mention hilly?
In full: Great day out at a really good price. I found I missed a lot of the views as I was busy looking at my feet, but if you'd slowed down it was really something to enjoy. A couple of small improvements - some first aid at the water stops (even if it's just plasters) would be nice, and the one distance sign (at 22km) could be improved upon (especially as I reckeon that was 23.5km!). Nice marshalls, small but vocal crowd at points and very friendly all round.

In short: Truly multi-terrain...
In full: This has to be the multi-est terrain race I've ever done! Mud, road, sand, rocks, fields, puddles, narrow footpaths, woodland trails. It has just about everything! I wore road shoes and would definitely go for trail shoes next year as the feet took a beating. The start was a bit annoying - it would help to have a start line so everyone would know where to line up from - but other than that it was a cracking race and very enjoyable.

In short: A great endurance race!
In full: I have run this 4 times now, it's great for building endurance but very hard work! I struggled more than usual this year, maybe due to heat/humidity but still managed to get in under 3 hours *just*
To the person who didn't understand the first loop round - this helps to string out the runners a bit so the fast guys aren't caught up behind us mid/slow paced runners at the kissing gate etc and the remark on it being more than 18 mies = well it should be, it is advertised as 30k not 18 miles. Big thanks to all involved in the organisation and on the day!
