In full: Easy to get too & plenty of free parking extremely close to the start line.
I did the 5k & thought that it worked out to be quite expensive. However, the t-shirt, antlers & flashing nose meant that it wasn't a total rip off!
The route was lovely although, if I had done the 10k I probably would have got bored of seeing everything twice.
There didn't seem to be a huge field of runners (certainly for the 5k at least) so it seemed like a great race for beginners as there was no ultra-competitive element.
Seemed to be quite well organised although as the 5k was lining up to start, there were still a few 10k runners coming in & it all seemed to be a bit of a muddle!
Overall a great little season wind-down race. Date of review: November 28, 2011

In short: Well organised, great antlers, flashing nose,tee-shirt,medal,hot chocolate and mince pie !!! In full: Really really enjoyed this run, easy to get to, easy to park, marshalls could not have been more friendly and helpful. Started on time, course well marked with marshall all over the place cheering you on. Scenery would have been fabulous, lots of lakes and even a canal, the fog didn't allow us too good a view. The course was virtually flat and on good paths so able to maintain a good speed. At the end, we got a bottle of water, lovely medal, large hot chocolate and delicious mince-pie to round it all off. Will def.come back next year, good cause and very good value, might be able to enjoy more of the lovely scenery. Highly recommended. A half-marathon would be great at this venue. In short: Fast course, excellent marshals, great atmosphere In full: Really enjoyed this race - although obviously a fun run for the charity, the whole event was really well organised and suited more serious runners too so I had fun, but also managed a PB. Special mention to the marshals who were all great - enthusiastic, supportive, and so many of them! Really couldn't fault it & hope there's a half marathon option for next year. In short: Great fun, flat, enthusiastic marshalls and lovely to run by river In full: Great stuff. Shame there was no chip timing, as I always forget to turn off my watch after. I just love running by the river, as it's so peaceful and beautiful. Very misty today, so hard for cars to see the marshalls directing them to the middle of a field, but couldn't blame the organisors for that. I did a really good time and was excited for a short time when I thought I was going to get a medal. Short lived, but what a thrill! Nice mix of runners plus antlered fun runners. Lovely. Would do again if official timing. Great cause too. Couple of mini hills here and there plus a bit of off road. Good potential for PB though I reckon. Plenty of room because not too many people. In short: Wonderful atmosphere and I had a great time. It felt great to get to the finish line and get my first ever medal! only one hiccup was no marshall at one corner and lots of us got lost for a minute. But all in all a fantastic race. Date of review: January 10, 2011

In short: Lack of marshall at crucial junction on the course In full: I had looked forward to this local scenic flat race for months. Lost sight of first bloke, who was following the bike, come to a junction, no marshall. Took wrong turn. Soon realised race was over. So so dissapointed, was second at the time. Jogged in. Many others, behind me also went wrong. The lady organisor, to be fair was very apologetic. I had to get the dissapointment out of my system, so I went back later in the afternoon and ran the correct course, on my own. I am not angry anymore. Afterall it was all for a really wortwhile charity, but I will never know could I have caught up the bloke in front and won the race. There is always next year. Date of review: November 22, 2010

In short: Brilliant just-out-of-London scenery and friendly In full: What an unfortunate balls-up on the marshalling. I was in that front group that only did about 8km instead of 10km. There was no one at a crucial junction - we chose right, it should have been left. Indeed a shame for scenic, well organised race which I would still do again next year.
