In short: Hilly course but very good scenery and views to admire as you go up past old sarum. Very tough to get a PB.

In short: Great views from the castle once you have tackled the climb.
In full: This was my first race and the first time I had covered 10km in one go. I thought the organisation was very good and there were plenty of marshalls and signs.
The 1km climb up to Old Sarum (just under 4km in to the race) is the main challenge with the nice views rewarding the effort.
At the finish line was a medal, water, gummy bears and a marsbar.
All in all I had a great time and thought it was a very good event.

In short: Disappointing turn out could be due to change of date or the price.
In full: I always enjoy this race because it goes by my front door. I agree that the marshalls needed to be better at the water station. Several runners were sent the wrong way.The lane beside Hudson Field is far too narrow. Why not route the run through Hudson Field it would be far better. The entry price is steep but I hope this is because part of the entry fee is a donation to the Fire Fighters Fund.Otherwise I am afraid Salisbury is going to find runners going elsewhere especially if they live out of the area.

In full: The first thing to realise is that this course does not pass through Salisbury!! Instead it starts North of the city and takes in Old Sarum.
It is expensive with Unattached paying GBP18 on the day which is too much. The course can be confusing if you do the accompanying 5K since some runners mistakenly ran the 10K route for part of the course so ran an incorrect distance. Runners were not dissuaded from wearing ipods/headphones which became problematic eg when faster runners wanted to overtake them on narrow tracks. This must be sorted out for next year. Changing facilities all ok and presentation after race was fine but sadly only a few waited for this in the comfortable bar so why was this? Hope that the organisers can sort out these glitches for next year.

In full: in generel the organisition was ok but the marshalling around the water station was awful i got sent up a a route around the inner ring of the castle which wasnt even part of the course. THis cost me a pb and a really good position, as i did around 11 k instead of 10k. For 18 pound entry this is not on really and i will not do this race again .
