In short: Great venue for a fell run
In full: A lapped course is not always a bad thing, some junctions could have done with police cover / assertive marshalling as cars were curing runners off.
Good facilities at start / finish. 30p for a brew at start, orange free at finish. One water station half way round would be nice.
Will be better when the old start returns.
The surroundings were spectcular but you only get to glimpse them on the way round. I'll have to see if there's a fell race round here.

In short: Disappointing
In full: This is my 4th time running this race and I think it'll be my last.
Positives first: despite the awful weather the marshalls were brilliant and the local support was vocal and encouraging.
I also quite liked the new start, even though it was a bit packed.
Negatives: Although we set off early, because we came across three road closures en route, we didn't get to the race HQ until slightly after 7.20. One particular individual at the registration desk was pretty rude to us about the fact that we were 'late'. In fact we were reprimanded like errant children!
Once again the memento, a pen, given at the start of the race, so there was no point in collecting it as I don't have a pen pocket in my shorts!
I also didn't see water or refreshments of any kind at the end of the race.
Year on year the price of entry to this race has increased and frankly it's not worth the £9 entry fee. There are other races in the area around the same date that I'll try in the future.

In short: Great race - fantastic scenery and great atmosphere. No killer hills, just short sharp kicks.
In full: The start wasn't great - on a narrow, muddy path with a sudden steep downhill, making it very slow. After that, however, the route was great. There were a few short but steep hills with equally steep downhills, and there was nice scenery almost all the way round. The atmosphere was great too.

In short: tougher than expected,or I'm not as fit as I thought.
In full: Course is undulating, two laps, run on roads which aren't closed but I experienced no issues with the traffic. Start was a bit narrow on the Penine Bridle Way,(changed due to road works or something) but I got in at the front and went off fast so was ok. Considering the poor weather there was loads of support on the course and it was very well marshalled. Giant puddle at the finish which was pretty much unavoidable, but was soaked thru with rain so made no difference. Good race :)

In short: Scenic evening race
In full: 3rd time and a PB for this course. Good atmosphere, supportive marshalls and a couple of short climbs which always feel tougher the second time around.
Only critisicm would be the quality of the memento and why they don't give them out at the end of the race.
