In short: A brilliant day - not to be missed
In full: This is a low-key race and all the better for it, running at its best. Tough here and there, pretty woodland, good may-marking and marshalling, good companionship from the other runners, good HQ (with somewhere to go afterwards if the family come out to watch dad)
This event is right up there on my list of favourites.

In short: Tough race in superb grounds.
In full: This is a tough race that is no good for a PB. Not ideal for new runners but if you enjoy x-country then this is a superb race. This year was dry so fast under foot. It would be a different race in the wet (i.e. more fun!). Excellent organisation makes this race a joy. It takes place in the grounds of the National Trust property of Stourhead and so makes a great day out for the family.
Well worth the entry cost.

In short: A really good and friendly way to kill off my hangover.
In full: I knew I would love this one and I did! The hills are all up; is that possible or was it all an illusion? Very special countryside and great poeple. I plan to bully the rest of my club into running this next year. No way should AVR have it all their own way!

In short: A lot tougher than it looks
In full: This race needs more mud - hopefully they will move it to later in the year (end of nov?) as it clashes with lots of other races. loads of hills and wonderful scenery plus the tallest folly in the uk

In short: Superb race
In full: The weather for today was ideal, sunny but cool. Beautiful scenery, great marshelling and signs. Only one water stop but for the weather today, i think that worked ok. I really enjoyed today and will definitely do it again next year!

In short: A grand event in a lovely part fo the country
In full: Great weather, great scenery and great cakes. I'm surprised this one isn't more popular than it seems to be especially on such a nice morning. Some serious uphill sections make for quite a challenge.

In short: Well organised race with amazing views
In full: A great small local event with good support from the marshalls. It wasn't as muddy as I was expecting. The hills were cheeky but it did mean that there were some great downhill sections. The cakes went down well for those who had one. Road works meant that I started late. My tracking skills let me down, luckily the sweeper saw me wandering round in the woods and pinted me in the right direction. See you all next year.

In full: Not as hard goimg as it could be through lack of rain , when muddy would imagine it to be a ball breaker . Congrates and thanks to all marshalls for there surport on the way round , nice touch with the cakes at the end
