In short: Love it!
In full: Fast and flat as usual, plenty of club runners but not clubby or elitey at all. Knocked 2.5 minutes off last year, so very pleased with that. The medal was just superb, wonderful for a small 5 mile event like this one! Will be back next year definitely. Well done Hastings Runners, marshals, drinks stations helpers and for everyone else who helped with the race organisation. Thank you all.

In short: Flat, fast, well organised, good value, super medal
In full: Unlike some races this one is as flat as it claims. Also some of it is sheltered enough to offer some protection from any headwinds (common on coastal runs).
Good support, lots of club runners but still fine for everyone. No chip timing but a nice wide start means not much time is lost on gun time (and we all have stop-watches anyway don't we?)
Also; one of the nicest medals I've seen. Very classy and actually worth doing the event for on its own!

In short: A great, nippy race.
In full: A simple no frills race with good atmosphere. A good one for smashing PBs. Great organisation and crowd support.

In short: Good speed test
In full: And don't go off too fast! Think I might have done that just a little but still came in under 10 minute miling, which I was pleased about because of my personal concerns about my fitness. Very well marshalled, drinks station just before halfway. Very friendly, despite the considerable number of club runners (myself included) present. Lovely 'olympic' medal! A nice low-key event after the grandeur of the 'Hilly Hastings Half' as I call it. Lovely to see the crowd at the finish line give a big cheer to a blind runner finishing, and who beat about four or five others as well. Super stuff.

In short: An excellent race
In full: A great one for attempting a PB. Nice atmosphere, and the seafront is a great place to run. Thanks to the cheerful, supportive marshals and crowds. One of my favourite races.

In short: Perfect race for a PB attempt
In full: And I thought I had a new PB until it was pointed out to me that my GPS must have stopped counting when going through the underpass! Doh! However, a very good race as a speed test, and I was doing a lot of overtaking early on, with no comebacks! My first running of this race. A lot of club runners, myself included, but no sense of clubby elitism. Lovely medal for a small race such as this, so a nice touch. Friendly marshals, good mix of hot then cloudy weather. This is a good little race, will certainly do it again, to try and beat today's time of 46:11. Until then, there's just the very small matter of the Hilly Hastings Half next March to contend with!
