In short: Windy but dry In full: Nice course apart from the bad road surface at mile 12 but that wouldn't have been so bad if the wind wasn't howling a gale at that point. Not too much support around the course but friendly stewards. Nice medal and good to see a banana and cereal bar at the finish. Only negative if I was really picky was getting out the car park/field was a bit of a struggle as cars appeared to be blocking the way. Date of review: June 30, 2013
In short: What goes down must come up! In full: As the race starts and finishes in the same place, is gently downhill for the first few miles, then just about flat for 8-9 miles, you have a bit of a climb towards the finish - not entirely unexpected! Definite PB potential though if it wasn't for the windy conditions. Smooth organisation, nice scenery, quality medal and a cheer, cereal bar and banana to finish. What more can you ask for?! Enjoyed this one and I'll be back.
In short: Well organised and marshelled. In full: I enjoyed this race and will definately do it again without having one particular area to shout about. Good large venue to hold the event from. Smoothly organised, well masrshelled. The course is a bit frustrating in places, difficult to run past people along the busier roads and the 12th mile's surface is horrible. Not as well supported as some events, as to be expected with the country course, but where there there were supporters they were very good. Could do with a bag for the items given at the end. When you are trying to catch your breath you do not want a handful of goodies. However overall I enjoyed the morning and will do again. Date of review: June 24, 2013
In short: It's not too hilly - honest! In full: A lovely, scenic route mostly along quiet country lanes. The first few miles were mostly downhill then it levels off which leaves a gradual climb towards the end of the race but nothing drastic. The headwind added to a challenging finish but worth the effort considering that the roads were well marshalled throughout with volunteers and police. Great atmosphere and medal at the finish line, too. Date of review: June 26, 2012
In full: well organised nice medal and friendly marshals...one moan half full cups of water on a warm day isnt a good idea, bottles please.part from that enjoyed it and will be back next year. Date of review: June 26, 2012
In short: Good scenic course -relatively flat - great organisation In full: What a well organised event and lovely scenic course. Shame about the pot holed track at around 11 - 12 mile which certainly sapped my strength for the final push. Having said that a very friendly event and all for a fantastic cause. I travelled from Suffolk for this one as I used to visit Malvern (many years ago) as a youngster and was lovely to return and see the hills (fortunately not too many to worry about on the course). In short: fast course, windy, fun. In full: Very well organized. The marshals were very encouraging.great course for first timers too. Weather great, definitely do it again. Thanks to the organizers. Date of review: June 25, 2012
In short: Well organised, first half downhill with wind, 2nd half ouch! In full: Well organised event, delayed start was annoying as meant after my warm up I was stood at the start for 20 minutes. First half of the race was either flat or slightly downhill (couple of short climbs). The second half has a slow gradual climb from about 12km which combined with a headwind meant the last 9kms will inevitably be slower. The farm tracks section was very potholed and hard to run fast on. Finishing straight was great, despite the cheeky run around the extra cones bit which I am sure broke some people mentally. Decent medal, would've like to have a momento for finishing in the top ten rather than the same medal everyone got (for doing 1km, 5km fun run too). Date of review: June 25, 2012
