In short: Nice race, great organisation.
In full: First time for my local race and thoroughly enjoyed it. Missed PB this time by 20 seconds as I had trained hard all week on late nights and alcohol. his was the first race I'd done where ALL the kilometre markers were in place and visible. Excellent, it makes keeping track of time etc. so much easier. Well done to all the organising team.

In short: Looked forward to it for 3 months and it delivered in spades
In full: Approaching a perfect day. Loads of activities for hubby & 3 year old meant I didn't feel guilty for dragging them along. The race itself was pretty quick with some gentle hills thrown in for interest, really like the about-turn at the top which meant I could wave at all my friends. I beat my PB by over 3 mins, so I was all-in-all delighted.

In short: A great family event, catering for all levels
In full: This was first class. The organisation was excellent, the events provided to keep younger family members and partners occupied before, during and after the race was perfect. The weather blossomed after an early grey start. I would recommend this highly to any runner of whatever standard, considering a run in May 2008. There are hills, enough to keep you interested, but without extreme pain! Well done - worth every penny and ounce of sweat....

In short: Well organised, friendly event
In full: Good course, pretty much flat with a couple of minor slopes meant i got a PB - although I am sure training also helped! Good atmosphere as it was part of a 'family day' type thing! The only MINOR gripe was that the cup of tea for a pound was about a thimble sized!...it was for charity though! I should have used the mug we got as a prize instead!

In short: great event that welcomes the whole family
In full: friendly race on a quick traffic free course. Runners of all abilities side by side. Lots of activities available for non-runners. Fun-run for the kids. Mug for competitors much better than a medal or certificate. Anyone thinking or organising a run should folow Crowle's example.

In short: Friendly, well organised & great route
In full: Such a fantastically organised event, thanks to all who made our day such an enjoyable one.
Can't quite believe the cheek of those reviewers who have been so utterly rude about the mug being a 'cheap and nasty' momento - have they forgotten that it was a charitable event? Very sad.
Cakes were delicious too, will be back next year!

In short: This was only my second race and I really enjoyed it, although as a newbie I was a bit disapponted with a mug rather than a Medal a tee shirt would of been better

In short: Great Day Out For All The Family - And Sooooo Many Prizes!!
In full: Set up for a friendly family day out running and playing, by a friendly family centred organising team. Bargain BBQ. Bouncy castle and stalls for the kids, plus fun runs of different distances on the field for children too - with certificates for all of them and medals for winners.
Main even extremely well organised and marshalled. Trophies for just about every age group and alcoholic prozes too (and not just the raffle!)
New team trophies for this year.
All round great day out :-)

In short: Good run. Marshalling and local support good, great scenery
In full: Very enjoyable race, good family atmosphere. Better than last year, and that was good!
Reading other reports I realised I missed out altogether on the mug - but that's not what the race is about. Thanks to the organisers and volunteers, good job.

In short: Cracking race well supported by the local community.
In full: Supporting fun runs for the youngsters makes this a great family day out.

Start on the playing field with plenty of space to line up where you want.

Course had enough undulations to make it interesting, the scenery was excellent. Coming back after the turn enabled you to see and encourage friends and team members. Great welcome on return to the playing field.

I would choose a mug that I can use rather than a naf medal that will be filed away and never looked at. Everytime I look at my mug it will remind me of a good day out for my family and me.
