In short: A great XC Half
In full: Brilliant views, very challenging route - hills were one thing but the stairs really added to it.

A couple of sketchy moments where I was unsure of the route due to lack of marshalls. Mile markers are only at the water stations (4, 8 and 11.5 miles), which indicates you're unlikely to be running a PB.

Overall, a very worthwhile race, go for the challenge not the time.

In short: Leave your garmin behind and enjoy !
In full: Fantastic race through fields, woodland trials, promenades, cobbled and sandy beaches, up flights of stone steps, up and along the Needles cliff top and a storming 3 mile downhill finish. Not one for PB hunters but the scenery is outstanding and event well organised and friendly with a great HQ. My slowest 1/2M time but one of my all time most enjoyable races.

In short: Varied terrain, great views, well organised and friendly!
In full: Well organised, really friendly and a proper off-road challenge. Great base in west wight sports centre with good facilities (no queue for the ladies loo!). The terrain is very varied, grass, pavement, shingle, and the route is challenging but very well planned with a potentially fast last few miles and some awesome scenery! Not one for PB's if you normally run on roads but a nice challenge for trail runners!

In short: Flippin' Brilliant!
In full: Half marathons don't get much more varied and picturesque than this.
Running through fields and woodlands, up steps, across beaches and over downs, taking in views of the Solent, the Needles and the English Channel south of the Isle of Wight takes some beating.
Not a run to get a PB, although somehow I did!
West Wight Road Runners had just the right number of marshals and signs to ensure nobody could get lost, and made the event one to remember. Thank you so much for such a great day!

In short: Highly Recommended!
In full: This was such a beautiful run....the scenery was out of this world. Running along the grassy cliff of Tennyson down with the sea on either side of you, well it was just amazing. It was a lovely off road route too, and it was also very challenging with lots of hills, but a challenge makes the achievement all the more special.
Everyone involved were also extremely friendly as well, encouraging and cheering everyone on, and so were all the runners-all very chatty and pushing people on!
Fab race and I will definitely do it next year.
Bring make the Isle of Wight Marathon which covered this route!

In short: Stunning views remove some of the pain from the hills climbed to see them. Very hard race, including sections of beach, steps, woodland, fields, trails and roads, and more steps. Thanks organisers. ,
In full: My first race for 11 years, worth the effort of doing it as i am already looking to do others. This run includes some classic views, normally seen on tv and in books of the Needles, and surrounding countryside. If you did not have to pay for a ferry crossing I am sure this race would be over subscribed. Really beautiful scenes.
