In short: A well-organised local race which would make a good introduction to trail running.
In full: This was the first time I'd entered this race, and I was really pleased that I did. It had the feel of a small local race, but with sufficient numbers of club runners to make it properly competitive (whilst still good for the slower runners). The organisation was smooth without feeling bureaucratic and there was a compere who managed to keep talking without getting annoying!
Much of the course is off-road but despite the rain over the preceding weeks it wasn't muddy (a nice surprise). So you're unlikely to need trail shoes unless the weather is really bad. And although there are a few ups and downs, I wouldn't call it at all hilly.
My only gripe is that it took almost a week to get the official results up.

In full: My second chiltern chase and ill be back for a third. Well organised and beautiful run through picturesque oxfordshire. Two water stations which was welcome and very friendly

I agree with the goody bag comments but definitely one for the calander

In short: A very pleasant run, the course is great and some sunshine too!
In full: Another great, well organised Chiltern Chase. Thanks to the organisers and marshalls who made sure it ran very smoothly.

In short: Beautiful course, loved the pigs. Good atmosphere too!
In full: A couple of inclines that make you think twice but a stunning course with lots of varied terrain (including a short stretch through a pig farm with pigs spectating). Well organised and a good atmoshere with a good mix of running ability. Will be back next year.

In short: Scenic and well marshalled.
In full: Nice route, undulating rather than killer hills, but I have been doing a lot of the latter lately so it's pretty steep for a newcomer. The announcer/interviewer was excellent and kept everyone entertained, the marshalls were good, with two in places where they needed to yell "no, the other bank!!" and there was plenty of water, however this is the first race I've done in 11 years of running that had no goody bag whatsoever. There were cakes and coffee if you'd remembered your wallet (if it was in the car you wouldn't bother to walk uphill through the cowpats for it and come back down again). Most people seemed to head straight home, including one of the prize winners.

In short: Amazing scenery well organised!
In full: This was only my 2nd 10k and it was quite challenging on the hills! But it was well run, lovely marshalls and great scenery. I've managed a pb but then I've only done 2!!!

In short: A great mixture of ups/downs/road/off - road
In full: I loved the varied terrain and mixture of ups & downs, there were more ups than I had expected so I went off a bit quick...but knocked 3 minutes off my PB :)

Because of lots of rain leading up to the race I wore my off road trainers and I'm glad I did. I may have got away with road trainers but I felt more steady/secure in the off roadies...there were a couple of muddy bits & lots of puddles.

I will be back next year :) Loved it.

In short: Excellent Race will definitely be back next year
In full: The race was really well organised and the marshalls were excellent.

As expected the course was fairly challenging- inclines, tight corners & single tracks and because of the rain had a few slippery patches in places. The headwind was also fairly noticeable especially towards the latter stages of the race!

I also got bit held up at the start of the race and didn’t really get into my running until about half a kilometre or so. This was probably my own fault though for starting quite far back in the field.

Overall I have no complaints, the race was as expected and I will definitely be back next year.

In short: A great multi-terrain 10k. A very enjoyable run.
In full: Great route - mix of up-hill / down-hill and flat.

Compete once and you will look fwd to this run each year. The course is one of the areas finest.

Not a fan of the tie on race chips and there was a problem with inaccurate race times on site though this was resolved quite quickly.
