In short: A lovely evening run through the woods In full: This is always a good event. I didn't mind it being only 4.5 miles, it was such a hot evening. I'm pleased with my bar of soap, too. It's nice to get something a bit different, though it'll be a shame to use it. Date of review: July 10, 2013
In short: Excellent In full: This is a great race. The last km or so down to the finish is great. The club deserve praise for the thought they put into the organisation and goody bag. This year accidentally 4.5 miles rather than 5. But someone at the start announced it was accurately measured to 5 miles which was tempting fate ! Date of review: June 22, 2013
In short: A lovely woodland evening run In full: I enjoyed it that much that I didn't even notice the course was short until I'd finished! There wasn't great satellite reception in amongst the trees anyway, so not a big deal. Bracknell Forest Runners and their quietly encouraging marshals did an excellent job. And once again there was an imaginative memento rather than yet another medal or t-shirt! Date of review: June 21, 2013
In short: Nice undulating run through the woods In full: Some people need to grow up or stop thinking they are Mo Farah....mistakes happen, get over it and look at the positives of a great midweek race Date of review: June 21, 2013
In short: A lovely run on a summers evening In full: Really enjoy this race, it's a lovely way to spend a summers evening. I was actually quite relieved to see the finish at 4.5 miles as the humidity made it tough going this year. Very well organised, friendly event and the goody bag is definitely worth having. Will definitely be back next year! Date of review: June 20, 2013
In short: LOVE this race! In full: Everything about this race was perfect: lovely mixture of runners; fab goody-bag; less running than I'd planned to do!
Seriously, I've never finished a race where someone with some sort of GPS hasn't said something like, "It was 4 metres short," or, "It was half an inch long," or some such twaddle, so let's get over it, eh?!
Yes it's nice to have comparative times, but let's get a sense of proportion. None of us are going to set any world records, so we run for fun (however seriously we take it). Yesterday's race was well-organised, friendly and a good giggle.
Well done Bracknell Forest Runners for having enough VOLUNTEERS to put on a super race.
In short: A lovely summer evening run, well organised and friendly In full: Aside from the issue with the misplaced marshal I really enjoyed this event. Lots of on the day registrations, but they ticked along nicely. Indoor loos to boot. Despite a few hills this is still a quick course and mostly very good under foot. I always enjoy running around Swinley, but it always seems to be the hottest day of the year when I do. Parking charges caught me by surprise. so I had a nice 2 mile warm up to the nearest cash point and back before the off! Shame to hear a few complaining that it was short before they even reached the finish - I suppose you won't qualify for the olympics now :( :P. Get some perspective! Never had soap as a momento before... glad I sniffed it before taking a bite Date of review: June 20, 2013
In short: Still my favourite race In full: Before anyone is particularly critical of this years Forest Five please remember 1. Mistakes happen at all levels of event and 2. No-one deliberately makes a mistake. The Forest Five has always been a terrific midweek jaunt organised by a terrific group of enthusiastic running people. They don't deserve the negativity they have received for the unfortunate mishap this year. Date of review: June 20, 2013
In short: An enjoyable race with a few problems this year In full: Apart from the accidental shortening to 4.5 miles, this was a good race as ever, with a nice course through the forest. The new parking charge makes it rather expensive, but that's outside the organiser's control. Date of review: June 20, 2013
