In short: Adversity breeds cameraderie...
In full: If you haven't done some hill work in training, you'll know about it between 7 & 9 miles... Great organisation. Plenty of water & sponges on course (and did we need it!). Thanks to the man with the garden- hose shower too. Nice local feel & friendly atmosphere. Train hard, but forget the PB though!

In full: First time I have run this one and was hoping for a quick time (1:20 ish). Should have read the reviews before I entered. Its hilly but through glorious countryside and postcard pretty villages. Without doubt the best race of the year.

In short: Beautiful scenery, friendly and tough...
In full: My favourite race of the year so far. Nice relaxed feel at the start, probably becasue it was too hot for anyone to bother warming up. Scenery was fantastic on the way round with hardly any traffic. Well supported in places, the hills meant I could forget about chasing a PB and just relax and enjoy the run. I will definitely be back again in the future.

In short: Can't say anything I didn't say last year...
In full: I've just looked back at my comments from last year and think I said it all then.

Virtually a carbon copy, except my time was down a few seconds (probably due to a stitch in the last two miles) and I liked the fact that we got the same t-shirt but a different colour.

Only slight gripe was a lack of toilets but I'd rather the entry fee was kept down than the organisers having to hire portaloos.

Thanks to everyone who came out to support, it made the evening even more pleasant, and especially the enthusiastic marshall who gave me so much encouragement at mile 7!

The only reason I've marked it down for beginner-friendliness is that when I checked the results there were only a handful of runners coming in over 2:30 so slower runners might be intimidated by the slightly 'clubby' feel of the event.

See you next year.

In full: Wow! This race is great fun if you enjoy feeling the burn! i dont think hilly does it justice. I have run previous halfs in 1.50 and felt fitter then previously for this one and struggled around in 2.04! It really was a great challenge though and the marshall around the course really give you a lift when you need it. Also was very impressed with other runners who kept up the encouragement right until the end. Will i do o it next year?probably!

In short: Hilly, friendly run through lovely villages.
In full: My second year at this one and will be back again. Don't underestimate this one on warm days. Well organised although I agree a sign to the start from the main car park would help firt timers. Cheery marshalls and once at the top of the 2 mile drag nearing 9.5m then all downhill/flat from there. Very good value and nice LS Tee shirt too. Also a nice change to be a Saturday 6pm start.
