In short: Not flat! If you expect to finish in an hour or more then expect to be one of the last and to be lapped by almost everyone else. That said, a friendly, good value race.

In short: My first 'event' - really enjoyed it
In full: This was my first ever event so my ratings are a bit meaningless really. Anayway I didnt feel intimidated at all and enjoyed the run, would definately do it again although it was a shame not to run inside the park a bit more. As other posters have stated it was really mixed ability which helps as a first timer.

In short: Going round park 3x a little boring, but fine. Good if you just want low key race to do.
In full: Going round park 3x a little boring, but fine. Good if you just want low key race to do. Race organisers seemed fairly disinterested really. Not much atmosphere and encouragement. Fine if you just want to do a 10k for yourself. Most of the runners were pretty serious good runners so a little intimidating in that sense. Not a fun run. GOod if you want to challenge your time a bit by trying to keep up with the pack!

In short: Something for everyone and stress free
In full: I live locally so this was perfect for me.

Whilst not flat, the course is non-threatening, lots of long gradual inclines and downhills and so also pretty quick.

The field is smallish and very mixed in ability so everyone gets nice and spread out over the laps. Also the start is an open space in the park so no danger of a mad rush at the beginning to squeeze through some gap in a fence.

The marshalling is very good and there's a modicum of support en route.

Due to the smallish field the facilities (i.e toilets) are adequate.

For the price i was more than happy to be able to put down a time and to have a very stress free race so close to home.

In short: Good, low-key fun run
In full: A small local race around my usual running route. A medal, t-shirt and carb gel for runners which is pretty good for the £10 entry fee. The course isn't particulary clear, although I've done it before so it wasn't a problem. My only gripe were the miserable marshalls, apart from the race organiser who was cheering people near the finish line, the rest were just grumpy, not a cheer or a clap from any of them and they looked pained to be there! One was one his mobile most of the time and another was holding up the wrong distance marker (5k instead of 2k). Useless!

In short: Good value race, interesting course
In full: At the start, I wasn't entirely confident that we'd be going in the right direction, such was the clarity of the instructions we received. It all seemed to work out though. The three and a bit laps round the park route means you definitely have to get a shift on if you don't want to be lapped by the frontrunners. I made it round in 47 mins and *just* managed to avoid being lapped. Phew! It was also a bit unclear at the end where we were finishing. There was a board marked "finish" down the end, but no one seemed to bother running that far?? Fun race down narrow pavements. Made overtaking a challenge, but an enjoyable one.
Goodie bag was good value - t-shirt and a medal, plus carb gel. I was glad of the t-shirt but why does no one ever throw in a pair of socks? Future organisers: take note.

In short: Small, friendly event
In full: Good organisation, small and friendly. I'd say, judging by my own PB and the number of other runners reporting record times, that it wasn't quite 10k though - I do a lot of these races and my times are pretty consistent, suddenly I was two minutes faster! I'd say it was about 400m short. Nevermind, an enjoyable trip out to Peckham thanks to the organisers and volunteers.
