In full: Did the Summer Solstice 8k at Moors Valley for the first time and really enjoyed it! Despite the torrential rain a few hours before it eased off ready for the start. The organisation was very good and the route was really well marked. Thank you to all the marshals who braved the weather. The course was beautiful with woodland paths meandering through the forest. Loved it and would highly recommend for next year.

In short: A lovely, lightly undulating race, even in the drizzle!
In full: The dream of a balmy evening, scenic run that we had in mind was sadly shattered by the grey and drizzle. However, still a great evening, lots of fun, and a good atmosphere all things considered. Mixed terrain with lots of muddy puddles to negotiate en route made it a (fun) challenge! The traffic getting there was a little off putting... but after we'd finished we were glad we'd come along! Nothing better than the smell of a forest after/during the rain and all for a great cause...

In short: Small, well organised, friendly race. Truely multi-terrain.
In full: Great value for money run that deserves more support. A relatively small field of runners provided a warm friendly atmosphere, added to by the supportive marshalls.
Only one water station just after halfway, but nice touches with easter eggs and hot cross buns at the finish.

In short: Very warm, but the hot cross bun and chocs made up for it!
In full: Interesting run, but no shade so very hard going.
My results are incorrect on the sheet - it says I completed it 10 mins quicker than I actually did!!
Like last year, the last km is not marked properly and is too long, so it takes longer than you think - but I was prepared for it this time!
What a lovely big shiny gold medal this year :)

In short: sunny, very hot, great goody bag
In full: Lots of mixed terrain on this race, tarmac, gravel, turf, bridleways, heathland, sand - you name it, it's got it! Found it quite tough in the hot sunshine as there was no respite from the heat, also not really a great deal of wind.
Well organised, the route was really well signposted and the goody bag was awesome.

The distance was about 200 metres over 10k (therefore I just missed a pb!)

In short: Not bad for a first attempt, I am sure it will be better next year
In full: Firstly can I say that the reviews for this race are being added to the Summer Solstice race which is a completely different event.
There were a few organisation issues such as signposts to the car park lacking;unable to hear the young lady at the start despite the microphone;and a medal in the goody bag after I had just been given one.Having said that the marshalls were great, the route was nice and flat but slightly boring and the atmosphere was fine.
Thanks to all involved for putting on the event.Any comments are intended to be helpful rather than critical.

In short: Very good organisation and an interesting route
In full: I really enjoyed this race. The organisation was very good and had friendly marshallers. I would agree with some of the others about possibly adding in another water stop somewhere along the route, particularly as it was quie a hot day. A pretty and varied route which reminded me of Barossa at times! Nice goody bag at the end and a hot cross bun. Very enjoyable.
