In short: Shame about Don Valley
In full: My local half. Best atmosphere especially at Eccy Road which is really noisy and inspirational.
Bit of confusion about toilets amongst some folk but there ought to be plenty really but there is a lack of signage (but were shown on pre-race info).
I was ok with water cups but no sports drinks at all is a shame for a big race. However, goody bag seemed improved from when I last did it with a decent running top, sweatband and a nice medal. Quick course too as all the climbing is done really after Division Street.
Enjoyed it.

In short: Good atmosphere as always
In full: Its the key running event in Sheffield... brings the entire running community together, and introduces alot of others to the world of running which can only be a good thing - the whole city gets behind it and the atmosphere is great especially on Eccy Road. www.sheffield10k.com is also worth a look ( a shameless plug ) ... probably the best 10k course in Yorkshire? :-) ... Looking forward to next year.

In short: Excellent starting and finishing in the Don Valley Stadium (sadly for the last time though!)
In full: Living in Sheffield this is a must do race for me. Easy to get to and park. Fantastic atmosphere in the stadium (interested to see where we will be next year!), very friendly crowd of runners. Most parts of the run have spectators (but a little thin on the ground at Brightside) Fantastic support particularly in the stadium, City Centre Bramall Lane and Ecclesall Road - awesome running up and down there, the crowd lift your feet and your spirits! Plenty of water stations, well managed.

In short: Victim of it's own success?
In full: I've ran this race 7 times, inc this one. The 1st 5 were brilliant, but since they increased the entrance levels last year, for me it's ruined it. The Stadium RIP, can't cope with that many people at the start and the 1st mile was a pain. Having said that though, the atmosphere was amazing (as it always is) and the course is brilliant. Interesting to see what happens next year, but in a competitive month for half marathons, I may look elsewhere.

In short: It's my home town event, so I feel obliged to take part....
In full: ...fab to start and finish in the stadium that Jess Ennis trained in. Crying shame the council are going to demolish it, allegedly to save money. Marshals and supporters were great. Tannoy system was crap: couldn't hear a thing. T-shirts are cheap and nasty - pure nylon - not technical; would have preferred a cotton one.

In short: Great Crowds
In full: On the whole a well organised and enjoyable race with a nice-ish route, good bits and bad bits like most races.

However a race of this stature shouldn't have drinks in cups and should offer sports drinks. The sponges were a positive.

I also didn't think the mile markers were terribly visible and missed a lot of them.

Support in the city centre was great and the Eccleshall Road was simply awesome. Bravo people of Sheffield.

The stadium finish was also great. It will be very sad to see this go. The wristband at the end was also a nice touch.

Sadly though both the small t-shirts and more horrifically the water had run out by the time my partner finished and there were still almost a thousand people behind her.
