In short: Fabulous unique race. Run in 2012
In full: Fabulous race that starts and finishes on the beach on the east coast. The rest is made up of road, cliff sides and short stretches on the beach. Tough race but extremely enjoyable. Lots of support as you run through some of the little villages. Bus organised to take you to the start. Nice race top given to all those that's complete

In short: Fantastic run, everybody should try it!
In full: One of the best runs I've taken part in. Excellent scenery, good organisation, nice t-shirt, overall a very memorable event. Highly recommended!

In short: A fabulous route taking you across sand, road and fileds. You have wonderful views of the coastline and pass the beautiful Dunstanburgh castle ruins. Halfway you run through the village of Craster where there is a much welcome water station and lot m

In short: Annual fixture in my diary!
In full: A glorious race. Fantastic scenery and friendly event. Nice T-shirt too. My only gripe is against those (few) runners who, obviously considering themselves above the law, dropped their water bottles on the beach. These may be washed away and take 1000s of years to degrade. Perhaps runners should have a number on the backs of their vests aswell so they can be "shopped" if witnessed littering. The dropping of drinks bottles by a few gives all of us a bad name.

In short: Well worth the wait.....was everything I wished for and more!
In full: I'd been looking forward to this ever since I saw the review in RW. Great organisation, and while heavy with club runners, amateurs like me were made to feel very welcome. The mass charge on the beach at the start was memorable, as was the nasty head wind at the end. Great race, best of the year by far.

In short: A point to point race that starts and finishes on a wet beach, and takes in miles and miles (14) of breath taking scenery.
In full: It's a wet feet race so I think trail shoes are a better option, especially as there is little road running and a lot of tracks. The start line is the width of the beach and it's worth getting up at the front in the first half mile just for the view behind you of 800+ people running up a beach. Only a couple of mile markers, plenty of water stations and a good T-shirt at the end. Also the simple awards ceremony in the pub was good and for those thinking of traveling from further afield, there's plenty of campsite, hotels and caravan parks nearby. It's a great race, the only one I know of that takes in a castle, a little tern and kittiwake colony, a kipper smokehouse and a miles of great beaches, cliffs and trails.

In short: This race has it all!
In full: Alnwick Harriers - you should be ashamed of yourselves. Not only do you provide great views, cliff top trails, castles, wildlife, fishing villages but some of the best beaches in the country. Combine this with great weather, organisation, marshalling, T shirts, etc. etc.
How can any other Club / Race compete with this. It's unfair!!!!
