In short: A great 1/2 marathon in stunning scenery
In full: Alnwick Harriers organise this race with a touch of class. Not only is the run well and marshalled, but you get a really useful lightweight running shirt at the end(other clubs take note-not a cotton one that clogs your cupboards up)The route is very pretty and there are plenty of water stops(smallbottles- FLM take note!) Alnwick Harriers impressed me with their friendliness, I was particularly moved at the water stations enroute where competitors from the club were handing out water to us lesser mortals.
I recommend this run to anyone who likes running purely for the hell of it.

In short: One of my all-time favourites
In full: A week later I was running the Swiss Alpine marathon, a fabulous contrast. The coastal run has everything you could want, great and very friendly organisation, wonderful scenery, a challenging but achievable course, and great weather. Oh yes, and a lovely Montane T-shirt, too.
