In short: Mud, hills, stunning views, very friendly and buckets of fun!
In full: Credit to Lakeland Trails for holding such a friendly, welcoming event. First time I've done a lakeland trail run and loved every min from the min I collected my number. Such a great atmosphere and a beautiful, fun route to run. It even got my partner who in 42 years has never raced (and doesn't run much to be honest!) hooked. We will be back, espcecially as we won free enrty for the Spring series in one of the spot prizes! Thank you Lakeland Trails for a fantastic day!

In short: Bogtrotters!!
In full: My first Lakeland Trail (and first trail run of any kind) so didn't know what to expect. Took the first tasty incline too easy and was thigh deep at times through the bog. But now I know what these bad boys are about, I can't wait for the rest of the Autumn Series!! Brill run, awesome landscape, excellent organisation and lovely people all round. Only serious issue was the bar running out of beer (for my partner not me of course), so let's get a barrel or two of Coniston Bluebird cracked open for October!! See you all there.

In short: Beautiful views (although 2012 was an exception in that it didn't rain!). Brilliant course, and a great course for first timers. Fast flat first 3 miles, fast flat or downhill last 3 miles, with 3 miles of "interesting" bogs and climbs in the middle.

In short: Slog up, charge down
In full: I loved the route, especially the long long and very exhilerating downhill with stunning view down Derwentwater.

The start was a bit congested and it was difficult to hit a pace until about 3km in to the route. Also the boggy uphill section was single file with no point trying to overtake until back on the track. At just over halfway the high point is reached and it is an exhilerating downhill almost all the way back into Fitz Park.

Organisation as always was brilliant, the Batala Band are fantastic and everyone is so friendly. Great atmosphere in Keswick after as well, chatting to others in the Lakeland Trails "family" recognisable by finishers T-Shirts

Another great event.

In short: Lung busting, thigh aching fun in the mud & hills
In full:
In full: This is one of the highlights of my racing calendar, superb race route, absolutley wonderful views, good flat start section, then the hills & knee deep bogs get you, followed by a fantastic swift downhill finish. Great addition this year of the two well placed water stations. Marshals are all cheerful & hugely supportive.
Great day out, super atmosphere, organisation is smooth, can't wait for next year.
One small gripe would be to have a more secure bag store, thankfully not had an issue yet, but I do spend the race wondering if my stuff will still be there when I get back!.

In short: Superb organisation, friendly atmosphere, Batala drums added something extra special
In full: Nice flat section to warm up, then long uphill which was tough, but rewarded by the most glorious long descent.
