In full: First time out and throughly enjoyed it even though it poured with rain! Go to start/parking off the A41 and not te main camp site entrance. Good course, friendly and wht made it extra special was the Watford/England manager handing out awards. Defo for next year, can we get photo's wit Graham next year please race organisers?!

In short: Organisers View Point
In full: Thank you for your comments.

All will be noted and taken on board. However I feel that I should also air my views so people have some conparison.

I agree with the view that it is unacceptable that it was started early. As a keen runner and understanding the runners needs, when I saw my watch and noted the start I was shocked. It was a mis communication between myself and fellow organisers for which I apologise sincerely. This will not happen again.

I know some people were saying its FUN and don't worry about it but from a runner spoint of view I understand exactly the frustration this caused.

The course is 3 laps - this was mentioned on the website and all material associated with the run. It is not ideal but its what we hae to work within to keep it cost effective. As a result there will be some issues regarding scenery etc. With regard to the water station comment. I feel that water each 3.3km is fair enough. I think this is better than some 10KM runs I have been on. It means water can be taken onboard easily twice. I think this is adequate for a 10KM race.

With regards to marshalls, the sweeper van had been round to relieve marshsalls and it would seem the runner took a detour on the third lap of the route. The marshalls as far as Im aware were all in place until the sweeper van cleared the course after one and a half hours.

In terms of the start, this is something we have considered in depth. Officially we are allowed to start both races at the same time. There was a staggering number of entrants for the 10KM event this year - mostly on the day - this had a large impact on the numbers at the start line. If we had prior knowledge of the numbers then we would definetly have started the two races seperately.

This is still a developing run and we will only get things right with practice. I apologise if you did not enjoy the run, and I am happy if you did. We will try again next year and ensure that these mistakes are corrected. I hope you take part again next year and can feedback the positives that will take place as a result of these comments.

In full: Why start 3.3k and 10k at the same time in the same place. Narrow funnel effect at start added to problems with 11 to 16 year olds in with 10k runners. Race started at least 5 minutes early. Many still getting layers off, some missed start. No markers around the 3 lap course and limited water which could have caused problems on a hotter day. I can walk to start, so will potentially do this again, but I would not travel far to do it. With a little more organisation, this could be a lot better.

In full: Great race and is very freindly. A real good feel to it, only negative was the early start of the 10K? How can they think that would work with people sitting in their cars sheltering from the rain....
Good on Graham Taylor supporting the event and handing out the goody bags!

In short: Proving smaller events can be enjoyable.
In full: A good day on a testing route with enthusiastic marshals. Mr Taylor was as pleasant as ever. Only criticism is that a few of us were still in the middle of our pre-race routines when the start was called eight minutes early. Really enjoyed the atmosphere of the day.

In full: Started at the very back as the run started 10 minutes early! and unfortunatly at the same time as the 3.3km run so spent most of the 1st lap passing people in fancy dress etc. infact i spent the whole run passing people (for me thats a first!)i still have no idea of what the official times/placings are? other than that a very good run for beginners and the not so serious runner

In short: A hidden gem of a 10K
In full: Very enjoyable multi-terrain race with a bit of everything, including rain. Shame about the race starting 10mins early, so had to catch up the pack.
Overall a good well organised race; looking forward to next year.
