In short: A really enjoyable course, good organisation, great food, not sure about the sheepdip
In full: I really enjoyed this race - the course route was well thought out with a good mix of terrain - I liked the first wooded section and the badger run, the quarry was fun and hats off the the evil minded swine who thought of putting bales of hay half way up the slope.
The very English queuing system going on in the pond sections was slightly surreal too, maybe everyone liked it so much they were in no hurry to get out! The marshalling and support were good and the food at the end is always great.
My only real complaint is the sheepdip.. if it had been an obstacle at the half way mark then fair enough, there's time to wash it off elsewhere on the course; putting it 50m before the finish when there aren't any showers or low pressure hoses to wash the stinking crap off just seemed rather pointless.
I will definitely be back in March!

In short: I havent had so much fun in ages!
In full: Great race, excellent organisation and a huge thank you to all the guys who pulled us out of the ponds, would still be there if it wasnt for you! I stank so bad at the end I had to bin my trainers. I did the whole event with a big cheesy grin, it was so much fun!

In short: A great chance to be a child again...mud, dirty water, climbing on things you wouldn`t normally be aloud near!
In full: My first time at this sort of thing but definately not my last...had a thoroughly fantastic morning, just wish i`d brought my kids along too as they would have loved to see "mum" up to her waste in the dirtiest water around!. Loved the soup at the end, sadly i didn`t get a time..not sure if my "chip" didn`t work or quite what happened but who cares, it`s not about the time at the end of the day...can`t wait till next year.

In short: torturously painful fun for mad happy people
In full: What a great event this was. Took me a while to decide whether to take part as the title was a bit scary. But am I glad I did. I became an honorary member of another running club for the day and 8 of us all ran together. It was so much fun it was almost possible to forget the pain - it was a tough course. But I loved almost all the obstacles, the 2 dudleys, the tunnel, straw bales, quarries, muddy ditches etc. - it was all great. I could have done without the disgusting sheep dip and cold power hose which hurt like hell but hey that is all part of it. No showers meant a makeshift wash and hoping I did not smell too bad in the pub afterwards. Can't wait to do it again - it was so good not being a slave to a watch though some elitist morons did decide to push and shove their way through in parts! And some people cheated in the woods where there was no marshall - get a life you saddos! But all in all a superb event, quite expensive but well worth it for the experience.

In short: Hard work but fantastic fun
In full: What a ridiculous but brilliant way to spend a Sunday morning. I laughed most of my way around the course, which made 8 miles fly by. Huge thanks to the two big strong boys that pulled me up the river bank (I'm only small). Can't recommend it enough.

In short: Challenging course, friendly atmosphere made me smile most of the way round.
In full: First time at this event and would recommend it as a top off road race. Plenty of obstacles and routes through woods, streams and quarry to keep this a fun race. Organisation was good, with a rock as your memento of the event. Will do this again.

In short: Great atmosphere, nice countryside and well organised. Good 'fun' event.
In full: Would defnitely do this again, really nice fun event. Forget any PB's etc, way too many 'obstacles' etc for that, but a good team event. Organisation was good, plenty of info, marshalls etc. Nice bit of soup and other munchies at the end, and orginal souvenirs for all finishers. Course was hard but really varied and good fun. Only grumble about the course was that the deep water crossing bits came a little early in the course and therefore proved a bit of a bottleneck, for anyone not vey near the front.
Not as much mud as expected, but that was down to the exceptional weather we've had. In the rain, wind & cold this would have been a very different proposition!

In short: Great running this again, liked the changes from last year, signed up to the 16 miler in March!
In full: I liked that there was no map of the course, good to get a suprise. The dog of the lead at the start was a pain, I think it knocked some runners over, (dog owners, keep them on a lead). I heard a few people lost the course at times, a few more marshalls at key points was the only down side of a very well organised race. The band was a very pleasant addition and made me smile. More man made obstacles please. I'll keep coming back for my rocks, two look lonely!

In short: Enjoyed it as spectators - in awe of you runners (mad or what?!!)
In full: Great race for spectators as we saw the runners pass on a number of occasions. Brilliant ruuners who seemed to appreciate the support band. Marshalls could have done with knowing the course! Concerned that so many cars were leaving along the finishing straight (backing out into the path of tired runners!) Dogs off lead along the finishing straight and the owners chatting with push chair in front of the sheep dip - were you aware that a race was going on? Disappointed that Marshalls and Photographer had packed up and gone before back runners had completed the course - brave effort guys and gals, you deserved better!
