In short: A lot of road for what was a Trail Marathon.
In full: Signage good in places - but non-existant/hard to spot/parked cars etc, especially the last few miles when you were tired.

In short: lovely scenery and great variety of views - definitely worth taking the camera next time - the jaffa cakes and jelly babies at the checkpoints were very welcoming and made the nice race if you could call it a race much nicer

In short: A nice,scenic 20k.
In full: Enjoyable run with a little too much tarmac. Generally good signage and instructions, and friendly marshals. Not much support through the town though, and the section through the Cathedral could do with direction markers. Overall a low-key, relaxed race.

In short: First 10k - enjoyed it but signs could be better!
In full: The first hill had a windy single track at the top and a gate which caused a big hold up and couldn't walk quickly let alone run through! Found this frustrating! Then no problems until the last section when there were no signs to direct you along the boardwalk - I hadn't taken my map either because I was advised was well signposted anyway! Apart from this hiccup I enjoyed the run but was glad the ground was dry!

In short: Nice scenery - obviously not run by or for runners
In full: Designed for walkers, not adapted for runners.
Not enough signs, (obvious as so many got lost), no distance markers, no distances marked on the map, no start or finish lines (I had to ask if I'd finished!), no marshalls, water stations generally useless, (having to wait for water while helpers chatted to walkers is just rubbish), maybe I was too slow and the helpers had lost interest - wont be doing it again and will not recommended to fellow runners - nice scenery though.

In short: Scenic but tough & hilly
In full: was pleased it was so well signposted, hate following written instructions these were supplied but not needed.a few busy roads to cross but motorists were considerate.tough big hill just a mile in !! lack of European race options means this is a must if you want an august race.

In short: Salisbury Fire Service have laid on another fantastic event this year to suit runners and walkers over a range of distances.
In full: Although this event iasn't that challenging in terms of hills or terrain, I found it quite tough. The route kept you interested with road/fields/trails/stiles/scenery/checkpoints/following good directions (with route descriptions as backup (not needed)).

Alot of volunteers gave up their day for a good cause, and I really appreciated the good humour and enthusiasm that was in abundance. Made the day memorable, and an event that will be in my diary again next year.

In short: An excellent 30k run in wonderful scenery, but also quite hard...
In full: Many thanks to the fire service for an excellent day! The course was well marked, apart from the inexplicable gap in marking in the big field (which was ok for me as I met a group of lost runners coming back towards me from the wrong direction...) I loved the jelly babies and cake at the later checkpoints, and I think there were enough water stations, although I did need my camlebak too.
Make no mistake, this is a tough race, but as part of my marathon training this was not bad thing.

In short: 10k a bit disorganised but an enjoyable race
In full: I did the 10k. It was well signed until the last km when I had to stop and consult my map. The finish was very disorganised. They didn't seem ready for the 10k competitors, perhaps because there weren't many of us. The finish line was hastily marked out apparently after the first people had finished and when I finished I wasn't sure which way round the car park I was supposed to go. I noticed that people finishing after me came in a different way! Not sure if it was me or them that got it wrong.
