In short: FAB!!! In full: Superb local race. Plenty of supportive marshals on a pleasant route with PB potential. I'm trying to work out why I haven't done this before. Will hopefully be back next year. Date of review: August 15, 2013
In short: Great Race! In full: Well organised race with lots of marshalls out on course & chip timing for the first time this year. Being able to check your time at the end on a lap top was a nice touch too. The downhill from 7-9k gives a great chance of a pb too! Date of review: August 13, 2013
In short: Great race, well organised and friendly In full: Brilliant race. Lots of downhills so massive pb potential. They had a couple of laptops at the finish area so you could see your finish time straight away, which is far better than waiting a day for it to be published like you have to with other races. Marshals were very encouraging and the downhill from 6.5k to 9k is a godsend. Would recommend this race to anyone. Well done bearbrook runners. Date of review: August 11, 2013
In short: Nice morning out! In full: Well organised race, with plenty of loos, nice goodie bags and cakes! Marshals were fantastic , loads of them & very encouraging. 5-7 k uphill then downhill all the way to the end which gave me a great final 2 1/2 k til I hit the run around the rugby pitch at the end which was horrible! Still, I came 13th lady and got a pb by 4 seconds so it's all good! Date of review: August 11, 2013
In short: Great marshals and good route In full: Very well organised race with really encouraging marshals. Route is uphill 5-7k or so and the last 500m or so is grass (right round the rugby pitch at the HQ) which I found really unwelcome and leg-sapping so not a PB course for me but generally enjoyed the run and would do it again. In short: Well done again Bearbrook ! In full: Excellebt marshalling and great goodies at end (messenger bag and socks). One of the best road races around. Great 2K downhill run in at the end. Date of review: August 21, 2012
In short: Well-marshalled friendly race In full: Run on roads not closed to traffic, but plenty of marshals directing cars (and shouting encouragement) meant this was never an issue.
First half of the course is up an incline that's nearly imperceptible, then turns a corner a couple of steeper climbs. If you survive those, it's all downhill for the last third. I'd estimate the hills cost just under a minute compared to a pancake-flat course. Date of review: August 21, 2012
