In short: Good flat course, well marked with ample marshalls and water stations
In full: Just finished the 2008 run. This was my 2nd ever 1/2 marathon and I throughly enjoyed it. It's a very flat course and also very scenic. Organisation was great throughout the race although a bit of an anti-climax at the end as I ran over the line, received my medal and that was it! Hardly any crowd there (I am slow though!) and I'm sure it was 21.47km long as I had my satellite watch tuned in!
The race finishes right beside the local leisure club and so a warm shower is available for free, as are lockers (50p refundable). Parking is also right outside the centre, if you arrive early enough (a couple of hours at least). Raining and windy on the day but still a great race with a friendly bunch of runners.

In short: a flat, friendly half marathon course
In full: My wife and I did this race last Sunday (1/10/06) and we enjoyed it despite the rainy, windy conditions. It is flat and therefore suited to fast times. The marshals are friendly and helpful.

In short: 10K race was well organised apart from the lack of Km markers in the early stages.
In full: Report on the 10K race... straight forward race with a PB potential despite the incline from 8.5 to 9K. Nice roll downhill towards the finish though. Same problems seem to be experienced by Half runners as we did in 10k a few years ago... running through slower runners who spread across the road. Why not start both races at once and have more obvious signposting at the split? Couldn't find the water at the finish but otherwise thoroughly enjoyed the race... where are the results though?

In short: Half Marathon is still fast and flat despite the new course - PB every year so far!
In full: Good race and well organised although new route means the leaders in the 1/2 have to come back through the tailenders at about the 7 mile marker and therefore everyone is going for the same drink station but from opposite directions - could be a few collisions!!!

In short: A good race, will stay on my race calendar next year.
In full: Effective organisation, good marshals. We did get sworn at by a man in a builders van who obviously wanted to drive through the middle of the runners at mile 2!! Good atmosphere at start and finish. Was I alone though in finding this hard? I was 5 minutes slower than last year - no doubt a training issue though. A fine race and I'm looking forward to improving the time again next year. Well done to the organisers and all who took part.

In short: Well organised race, But.......
In full: A cracking 1/2 marathon race but :

Parking - Non existent apart from the 20 odd slots in the lesiure center.

Start times - Possibly stagger the starts of the 3 differing races? Mucho congestion for the first mile or so.

12 mile point - Just past the 12 mile point we were running on a main road into the village...traffic everywhere, a few cones or marshalls might have helped the traffic slow down a bit.

All in all a good race ! My first 1/2 MARATHON and i'm hooked. Must break the 2 hr barrier next time tho!

In short: 10k - PB achieved so well chuffed
In full: Generally good race, would have preferred to start in high street, like last year. Starting in the narrow side street meant the predictable fighting for places and trying to avoid parked cars and traffic calming gates.

In short: Nice and flat, bit of a pain filtering through the slow and chatty 10Kers though. Would have been nice to stagger the starts more.

In short: A Very good Half with friendly organisers in a scenic setting
In full: Did the half marathon and was pleasantly surprised by the the fast course. For a low key event this half packs a punch.Adequate water stations although you did have to pick up your drink youself from the tables. Organistion good with marshalls in surplus numbers. The only downer was going running the opposite way to the 10k runners. But they seemed to appreciate our difficulties.Overall a new a PB so role on next year !!!
