In short: Rain more rain, mud and puddles took this run to another levlel this year!!! In full: Marshalls were tops. There to the end and so encouraging even if they were wet and cold. Big thanks to all the committed organisers. Date of review: October 5, 2010

In short: If only Speedo made running gear, flippers required this year! In full: What a day, continuous rain for hours before the event meant that the course was at times more suitable for the swimming leg of a Triathlon, but it added to an already testing and undulating course. I was hoping for a PB in only my second 10m race (previously done the Otley 10)and it didn't look good, but I actual managed it by a couple of mins, and am certainly feeling the calves today. I though it best to buy some trail shoes last week, and wow, were they worth every penny!!! Date of review: October 4, 2010

In short: Wet and Muddy and..... In full: .....I loved every minute of it! Excellent course with plenty of hills and great scenery. Treated it like a training run today due to the terrible weather but had loads of fun. Marshalls were brilliant, thanks! Date of review: October 3, 2010

In short: Great setting - lovely off road challenging course In full: Just got back and dried off! Today was hampered by the heavy rain making the route very wet, muddy and a whole lot of fun. Trail shoes got a good working out anyway. Lovely scenic course, well organised and a must in my mind. kept today as a longer training run rather than an out and out race. Big thanks to the marshalls who never stopped smiling and encouraging everyone on the course! Will be back next year. Date of review: October 3, 2010

In short: one of best trail races I've done In full: what a fantastic race this was, although very tough in part, some really good downhills to make up for it. A really hard slog uphill for the last mile, but a wonderful downhill stretch through woodland immediately preceding it. Lovely friendly marshalls all with words of encouragement. Stunning scenery, especially the sight of Harewood House in the distance as we ran through the fields. A great family day out also. Date of review: October 6, 2009

In short: None but the brave... In full: Entered on the back of an overcrowded Great North Run and a wonderful Horsforth 10k. A maginificent setting and heart warming to watch the families and kids in the 2 mile fun run. A really tough run - topped by veteran John Johnson (who will be 81 this week) running with us for a few miles in the middle of the race before leaving us at eight miles to push on and be one and a half minutes ahead by the finish (Hills? What hills?). We sought him out to shake his hand and thank him for his inspiration. Surely such fantastic characters should be recognised during prize giving at the end? I think there was a 70 something runner also - surely worth a mention if they finish? The course is very tough and finds out those injuries we all carry. A fantastic day that could never be equalled - so I will not be back as I want to keep the memory special (and be able to keep running). Ironic that our race photo shows John running with us by the reservoir. Date of review: October 5, 2009

In short: Lovely course and very well organised trail race. Many thanks. In full: Thanks for a great race, almost entirely off road, didn't see a single car in motion. Well signed and marshalled with slick organisation. Dry day today made for fast running, but that final hilly mile exposed my idleness in September. I'll be back. Date of review: October 4, 2009

In short: very muddy and wet - great fun! In full: My first 10 mile race and I enjoyed every minute of it. The only point I didn't enjoy was the last km which was up a nice steep hill. No goody bag tho :( Date of review: November 3, 2008
