In short: Fast and flat but bendy and windy.
In full: Great finish and lots of drink stations. Found the Barrage 2nd time round a bit windy, also found the bends in the park and castle hard towards the finish.

Rumours are that they may scrap the full marathon next year which would be a pity. I can't see how a capital city could be without a marathon.

In short: Not bad - could be better
In full: Some nice scenery and a nice flat course - 2 laps not as bad as expected and the stadium finish is fantastic. Plenty of water & sports drinks available.

I think it probably makes a better half than full, spectators started wandering off second lap, some across the course. Its a bit annoying having to run round slow halfers towards the end, must be really bad for the v fast boys!

Some of the other complaints didn't bother me, congestion wasn't really a big deal & grasscrete & cobbles weren't too bad either.

In short: Fun, supportive, fantastic scenery and what a way to finish a race around the Millenium Stadium!
In full: This is a fantastic course to do. Not only because you get to finish in the Millenium Stadium but you have support and a real chance to see your family & friends along the way and its easy for them to do so. The course is totally flat and your not too crammed in with other people to begin with so you get a real good chance to do your PB! I would recommend this course over any other half marathon for first timers.

In short: Great atmosphere and scenery with a really special finish.
In full: My first marathon and I would say that I would recommend Cardiff as a first full or half marathon to anyone. The flat course and varied scnery was good and the local support was excellent. As for the finish, well I think any race would be hard pushed to top it.

In short: The finish in the stadium is truly special, I found the support good - quality rather than quantity...thank you to the people of Cardiff. Crowded start and poor goody bag the only real issues.
In full: Only my second marathon, and got a pb by 29mins, so got to be happy! However, I can see why some are not impressed by the lack of organisation at the start, this must be improved, and the t-shirts issue is a valid point too. That said, the drink stations and marshalling I found to be very good, the variety of scenery helpful for such a long race and overall this is well worth doing. Finally, I doubt anyone left without a warm glow after that final lap round the stadium to the finish - what a good feeling!

In short: Fast and flat!
In full: I love this race, out along the bay, round the park, through the castle and finishing by running round the millenium stadium - makes it really special.
The 5 hour cut-off introduced this year was a pity though, probably would put off first-timers and charity run/walkers.
If they are holding the marathon next year I will definitely be there!
