In short: Good course, great to be part of the Highland Games, smooth, but where did that sun come from?!
In full: The race was great. Good turnout (nearly 200), good atmosphere. The Highland Games crowd got in the way a bit in the final stages, but brought such a fantastic atmosphere to the finish that it was a good trade-off. Marshals and volunteers at the water stops were friendly and encouraging. Thanks to the man with the shower hose out - it was welcome in the unusually hot sun. The sponges were a welcome treat. Excellent goodie bag. Fast course - if the wind hadn't come up so strong as to blow down the beer tent, it would have been a very fast course indeed. Great job to Nairn Road Runners for putting together an excellent local race. We may put this one on the annual "to-do" list. It could do with starting in the morning, to make the most of cool conditions, if there's likely to ever be such hot sunny weather again.

In short: Good course - only one hill, shame about strong winds in 2009/2010.

In short: And as if by magic the sun shone
In full: Well organised again.Even managed to order sunshine on the afternoon after a lot of rain the day before.Very windy after the turn at 7miles tho which kept the times down for many of us.(thats my excuse this yr)
wonderful feeling running around the arena of my local Highland games and hearing my name being shouted by friends and family.
Well done Alistair and his team.

In short: Lovely half marathon, definite PB potential....
In full: ....and I can say that because I did PB! First time I have done this race, picked it specifically so I could train to break the 1 hour 50 min barrier, which I did, 1 hour 48 mins!!! Lovely place, great course, sun was shining which was nice as it had been pouring with rain all morning....was windy though, so even happier that I managed to PB. Good water stations, not many supporters once you get out on the road but running into the field where the highland games is being held is good at the end, plently of spectators...will be back!

In short: special race at a special venue
In full: very good mainly flat course, well marshalled and plenty of water stations. The arena finish is fantastic with loads of support as you run round the highland games arena.

In short: Well organised, flat course, great atmosphere.
In full: Well organised and supported, flat course, part of Nairn Highland Games. Fast times a bit weather dependent given that its in August.
