In short: It's a good entry level race for anyone wanting to do hill running. The tracks are very clear and there are loads of marshalls. Don't be mistaken though, it is a tough run with 2 big climbs. The heat was the main obstacle, but ample water stations fo

In short: Superb Scenery, Very tough race
In full: Really enjoyable race, The hill at the start was really tough especially in the heat but it was well worth it for the scenery.

Marshalls encouraging and freindly but no memento at the end (got a medal last year)

Will do again though.

In short: OH MY GOD........
In full: speechless now and certainly was after that huge hill at the beginning. Usually prefer road races but tried this for something different. Amazing views, scenery and friendly folk but oh my god what a course. Thank god for the crowd at the back who also walked up those damn hills and made up speed on the downwards bit. Would possibly try it again but not in a hurry. Bonus the sun shone and the lady who stuck with me at the back and kept me going was a star!!!! Great day out though and perfect for making a weekend of it. Marshalls very supportive and the blackcurrent squash at the end was the best drink ever.

In short: This was a superb race, not too challenging but with enough of a challenge to get you going... the medal was nice too!

In short: 'Grand Day out Gromit' - Great location, very scenic, good organisation
In full: Pleased I did this even though I had a complete nightmare myself (one of those days). Starts with a steep climb away from Castle Bolton before continuing to climb along an exposed ridge (climbs for about the first three miles overall). Sharp descent then another testing climb before a gradual three miles descending back to the finish.

Route is on good tracks throughout and is well marshalled.

Could be a bit bleak on top in rough weather.

Facilities at the start/finish are minimal - which is appropriate for the low entry fee, and not a problem on the dry sunny day we had this year. Again - something to be aware of and prepare for if its likely to be wet.

In short: A cracking race with tremendous scenery
In full: Had a hugely enjoyable day out at this race. Rare sunshine this year really made the event, and the views across Wensleydale were stunning. A testing course in places, but would say it was accessible for any club runner to tackle as a first trail race. Will back be back for more next year.
