In short: A brilliant race!! In full: This 8 mile run is lovely with lots of scenery and a few good hills to add to the challenge! I normally opt for longer distances so it was great to just be running for an hour or so and have a good leg stretch. Lots of fields and pretty villages and plenty of friendly people to natter too. Mile long hill at the end was interesting!! Date of review: September 13, 2010

In short: Must be one of the best races in the south west! In full: Glorious weather, great organisation and a brilliant course. Was worried it was going to be tough but loved it and found the course pretty flat throughout most of it, with only the odd incline scattered here and there. 3 water stops, plenty of encouragement from marshals and a free T shirt at the end, plus a BBQ, massive range of refreshments and a great location made this a really good race. One of the best of the year in my opinion, as good as the Glastonbury 10k! Date of review: September 12, 2010

In short: First class organisation, route and atmosphere. In full: With the 3 distances on the day there was a fab family atmosphere with plenty of food in the bay of BBQ, pizza, cakes for supporters and runners. Markers at every mile, loads of marshalls and 3 water points. It would be impossible to get lost as the route was so well marked. The best run all year. A definite for every Sept. In short: Well organised race, part of village fete & free car-parking. Tea, coffess & cakes afterwars In full: Almost missed the race as I got lost on the Somerset Levels. The mud & soft underfoot conditions made the 8 very challenging. Would like to run this course when its dry. Date of review: September 9, 2008

In short: excellent organisation - good fun and hard race In full: Thank you to everyone involved in organising this - i was very impressed with the whole event -my kids did the fun run and i did the 8 miler. Lovely running weather, cool and damp was a great start. I love x country and this had mud, mud, grass, hills, some road and added up to lots of fun. its not an easy run but i loved it. A good family occasion as well, 4 different length runs, hot drinks, cakes, burgers and some nice marshalls all made it a great day out. Just sorry i had to leave before everyone finished and i couldnt stay to clap them all home and watch the presentations. I will be back next year !! Date of review: September 7, 2008

In short: An enjoyable multi-terrain with a tough uphill finish. In full: The fun run and 5 miler meant that there was a good selection of runners which contributed to the atmosphere of a local school/village fete. The 8 mile was well marshalled with 3 drinks stations (it was pretty hot). Down hill for the first mile or so on quiet lanes and then off road on tracks and across fields/stiles etc. Some of the tracks were very rutted which would have made it pretty interesting in the wet. Up and over a short steep hill about half way stopped you from getting carried away and then back via fields/golf courses/drove ways before back on the lanes and a long uphill drag to the finish. BBQ and cake stall at the end of the race went down really well. All-in-all most enjoyable. Date of review: September 10, 2007

In short: Hard on a hot day, good countryside views and attractive venue. In full: Very hot day so very tiring especially if you are slow like me. Very open country so you can see the runners well ahead and know what's coming up. Good practice multiterrain, grass, earth droves, couple of steep hills (long hard hill at the end); as a beginner or tailender you wouldn't want it to be any longer but enough to give you a sense of fullfillment. Attractive venue. Date of review: September 9, 2007
