In short: A very flat race with tradition, great pb opportunity In full: My first experience of the Grimsby 5 mile and I really emjoyed it. I have never raced over 5 miles before and I was very happy with my performance. Although I am not a club runner I was made to feel welcome by the other competitiors which were mostly affiliated. The event was well organised and there was ample car parking and toilet facilities. The course is flat and gives an excellent chance for runners like myself who are new and developing to challenge their pace in a race environment. Although the course scenery is very bleak and uninspiring it does make you focus on your running as there are no distractions. The t-shirt was good one, a very nice addition to my collection. One critisism though, I though that maybe the awards presentation could have been earlier, it was scheduled for 1pm, as the race started at 11am, it was too long a wait to hang about as I had to get back to Barnsley to watch Mr Murray. However I enjoyed it very much and look forward to next year where I hope to beat my time of 37:50. Thanks to all the organisers for a memorable experience. Date of review: July 10, 2012

In short: On an industrial estate but flat, though with a few turns; a race for quick times so you're only looking at the road ahead, not around you. Date of review: July 9, 2012

In short: Average. In full: Not great organisation. No indication of where the start line was from the car park and a lack of marshals. The course was dull and smelly from the industrial estate, also running over the same railway lines four times was a little tedious. The tshirt was nice though, and the course is definitely geared towards achieving a PB. Date of review: July 9, 2012

In short: Two and a bit laps around an industrial estate In full: Flat and fast but a terribly dull course on a wet day. Well organised, great t-shirt and thanks to the organisers and marshalls but can we have the sea wall bit back please? :-). Date of review: July 8, 2012

In short: Very friendly race - everyone made to feel special In full: 1st time I have done this race - but an enjoyable experience - despite feeling a problem with my calf muscle approaching 2 miles. I eased of so that I could finish the race. Despite the rain and the niggle, I thoroughly enjoyed the event. Good quality technical t-shirt to all finishers, and a moderate entry fee.
