In short: Slipping and sliding and loving it In full: So mnay good things about this race - the marshalls, the reorganised car parking following the rain, the mug memento (featuring the friendly sheep), the event photographers who seem to have snapped everyone, and me six times (I must be photogenic!), and the post-run cake stall. The wind and mud slowed me down, but didn't spoil one of the best runs on the calendar. The only gripe, as last year, was the twenty minute queue for the insufficient number of toilets. Somebody please look up 'ample'... Date of review: March 31, 2008
In short: Wet and MUDDY but great fun and well organised. Well sone MustTriHarder!! In full: Ran this as my first ever race last year and had to come back this year. Totally different race this year but the mud just made it fun, fun, fun. Very well organised my thanks to the MustTriHarder Team and all others involved. Roll on 2009. Date of review: March 31, 2008
In short: A lovely change from road races In full: Quite a tough course, lots of mud to add interest (!), but great fun. Marshalls were friendly. Nice and welcoming event for families. Could have done with more portaloos! Like the mug - nice change from a T-shirt. Date of review: March 30, 2008
In short: Another great race at Arkendale In full: What a great race. Lots of lovely mud. Very dfferent from last year's run due to the ud but still really enjoyed it. Somehow managed to knock a minute of last years finish time so very pleased. I'll certainly be back next year.
Only gripe was car park marshall at start - when we got to the junction and were trying to work out where to go they were just standing around chatting! Still, all the other marshalls made up for it as they were excellent. Really enjoyed the cake stall afterwards. Of all the races I have done this one has the best after race refreshments. The mug was also a nice alternative to a T shirt.
In short: Thoroughly recommended In full: Read about this race here last year and certainly don't regret entering this year. Extremely well organised and friendly village race, the soggy ground and puddles just made it more fun! Date of review: March 30, 2008
In short: Much tougher course than anticipated, but brilliant atmosphere and organisation In full: Course was picturesque, particularly in the latter half, and nice and muddy underfoot too. Marshalls were excellent, the sparse traffic not a problem, and a great atmosphere in the village. The last two miles, across the fields and up the hill, was painful. Nice touch with the cakes and hot-dogs in the barn! Slight delay with the prize-giving, but otherwise a fantastic race. I'll be returning next year. Date of review: March 30, 2008
