In short: Good fun
In full: Good fun run, short 10k but nice and hilly and two quick laps make this a great start to your running calendar!

Organisation was a little wonky at times but didnt detract from a good morning out!

In short: Great location - organisation could improve
In full: Second time I've run this event, which was cancelled in 2010 due to snow. This year it started warm and sunny for time of year, with clear blue sky. But the clouds soon gathered and it was raining by the end. Course is in a lovely, hilly setting around the deer park of Knebworth House. But this year the route (revised at the last minute due to recent rain) was hard work due to mud and soft ground. Oganisation could be improved - particularly signage. Mainly charity runners. Friendly event for a very worthwhile cause.

In full: A pleasant race with the rain holding off until I'd finished :-)
Second time I have run this one and still had the same minor niggles as before.
The main problem was that it was short again. My Garmin measured it as 5.65 miles!! So short by a fair distance.
But it was for a good cause and the majority of the runners were non club runners and all seemed ti enjoy the day.

In short: A fun morning out
In full: It was a nice day and the scenery around Knebworth is nice. It is very muddy in places and not flat! I would be interested as to the distance as felt less than 10k to me. All for a good cause though :)

In short: All for a good cause, but organisation was poor with the course incorrectly marked on the first lap.

In short: Can't help the weather but can help the route directions
In full: Tough on the ankles due to the mud. Disapointingly, the route was actually 5.2 miles. The volunteers were unbelievably cheery considering the cold and drizzle.

In short: A lovely run in gorgeous surroundings - ideal for a first timer!
In full: Okay, I know this is a charity run, and it was advertised as a 'jog', but the organisation does need to improve a bit.
Perhaps the 'walkers' could have been started after the 'joggers', and it was a bit off-putting when those who had finished the 5K (one lap of the park) tried leaving in their cars along the same route as those of us still running (doing 10K). Myself and a few other participants were startled by a 4x4 driving past us on the grass.
As other people have mentioned there was no visible water station at the 5K mark (fortunately I took my own but a friend hadn't).
The finish was also little confusing. My Garmin only measured 9.3K (I definitely didn't cut any corners ... unlike some!) so I suspect we all ended up finishing in the wrong place, but without there being anyone to guide us in it was very unclear.
Moan over I would like to say this is a brilliant 'first-timer' event and in beautiful surroundings away (well mostly) from traffic.
This event was not as well organised as the Race for Life however BHF have a much better venue i.e. the grounds of Knebworth House, so there may be merit in seeking advice, and support, from local running clubs who, I am sure, would be more than happy to help if they can.
I may well be back next year, if only to conquer those hills in a faster time.

In short: enjoyable first run
In full: This was my first organised run, and to be honest I'm pretty happy with it.

I was using it as part of my training towards a triathlon which I've been roped into, so the 10k course and close proximity to my home were ideal.

The atmosphere was very friendly but the organisation has some room for improvement.
* where were the water stations ?
* too many walkers at the start
* unclear finish
* no distance markers on the course

Some people were unhappy with the tough hill climb towards the end of each lap but personally I thrived on that, so each to their own !

I'd definitely do it again and would recommend it to anyone that is up for a challenging first run.

In short: A hilly charity run
In full: As a charity race one shouldn't be too critical - it is all about raising money for the cause - but was only 9.5K long. It's also hilly which made it very challenging for the large number of new runners. I hope the reviewer below doesn't quit running because of her experience at this one - there are lots of good races out there!
