In short: A challenging course made harder on the day by record temperatures. Saw a couple of club runners taken out at the roadside needing help - hope they're ok. Thanks to the resident with the hose pipe - very kind. Good facilities at the school. Thanks.

In short: Very hard and very hot!
In full: When I entered this race I was expecting an autumnal jaunt to finish my race year off, hoping it wouldn't rain..... and yet I found myself in a very challenging race with temperaturs approaching 30c?.Seemed to be quite a few moderate hills generally climbing to about 7 mile and then a general descent, although there was still some more climbing to do.Not much shelter on the roads, it seemed quite exposed in the heat.Only two drinks stations, should have been more considering the forecast.Anyway, a big thank you to the S.Striders and all involved. Generally very well organized. It must be a hard job organising these events and we should be very grateful to every one who takes the trouble to put them on. So again, many thanks!

In short: Scorchio!
In full: A lovely route, friendly marshals and great technical tee! Downside was just too hot which there was nothing the Striders could have done but it would have been a nice touch to have a sponges stop to take the sting out of it as this weather had been predicted for the week leading up to the race. Know myself how hard it is to please all of the runners all of the time and I'll deffo be back so well done Striders!

In full: Very undulating, only sore one sign with a arrow on the rest of the signs where two small if you wont to borrow some signs for next year I know my club could lend you some, and the signs should be bigger and at eye level, only 2 water stations very bad, first one was just before 4miles they was doing a good job carrying buckets of water from the house not very hygenic look like builders buckets, not enought water at finish ,nice t shirt mars bar and energy drink after waiting in a queue to get it,room for a lot of improvment, but well done for putting on,

In short: Lovely run (but uber hot!)
In full: I really enjoyed myself this morning and thought it was a very pleasent run though it was incredibly hot. I thought it was pretty well organised and i like the technical tee. Thanks and well done to Sittingbourne Striders.

In short: Boy that was tough!
In full: Said before, but very hard going today. A tough course, truly undulating course with only one major hill early on, but with very little on the flat. Most marshals were very encouraging, with excellent traffic control at some potentially scary junctions. Great race HQ at the school. Nice to get a technical top. The only downer is the organisers seemed caught out by the unseasonably warm weather - which had been expected all week - and should really have had more water stops. I hope that the two runners I saw in real trouble turned out ok.
On the whole, well done Striders.

In short: Hot and hard today...
In full: Phew, that was really hot out there today, well done to all as I imagine all found this a challenge. I was really surprised how pleasant the route was, a number of gentle but long ascents in the first half and I didn't have a lot left in the tank for the second half, but all in all a well done to Sittingbourne Striders for a really nice event.

In short: A long uphill drag for the first half of the race in blistering heat......
In full: My first 10-mile event and it's just my luck that I chose an unseasonably hot Sunday in October. Who would have guessed that we'd be facing 28 degree heat?
A well organised event with a couple of water stations. Very encouraging marshalls and lots of local residents on the route to cheer you on. Thanks to the local who was dousing overheating runners with his hosepipe - much appreciated in that heat.
As a relative novice, I thought that there were a lot of gradual inclines for most of the first half of the race and one tricky hill at the one-mile mark. But I think it was just the heat that was the killer (not literally).
All in all a very good race and I would go back next year, but hopefully more autumnal weather.
A nice long-sleeve t-shirt to boot.
Well done, Sittingbourne Striders.
