In short: An undiscovered gem!
In full: Loved this race! A small field of only about 100 runners - why more people don't know about this I have no idea! The course was fairly flat, with one steady climb around 2 miles, then repeated at 6. There was then another hill at about 6.5 which nobody had mentioned! Not horrific, but a bit unexpected based on how flat the rest of the course had been. So if you're going to do this race, make sure you're got a bit left for that.

The course is through a country park, which is lovely, and starts and ends in the 'arena' - nice to have the flat track here, although it's concrete. Only complaint about the course is the turning point - between about 2.5 and 4.5 miles, you run out along a path for a mile, then turn round and run back. The turning point is a bollard, so quite a tight turn - might be better to run around two bollards, to make the turn a bit wider.

The organisation was great, the club were incredibly friendly. Cupcakes at the end were a great surprise! Would definitely recommend this race to others, and will definitely be back next year!

In short: Awesome, see you in 2011
In full: This is the first time I've done this race and I loved it.Very well organised and a great atmosphere. It's great that you get soup and roll at the end and a medal too.
The course isn't that flat with a couple of energy sapping hills in the last mile just to challenge you.I'll be back again next year for sure. Much better views than road races!

In short: Friendly and well-organised with some challenging gradients in the last mile
In full: Pleasant parkland route with a bit of a sting in the tail. The free soup and cheese roll at the finish line was a nice touch and very welcome on a chilly day. Will I be back, oh yes!
