In short: Good way to start the weekend In full: It's a nice flat quiet course, and on a cold bright morning it's very scenic. The marshals are cheerful and helpful. Couple of minor points - my garmin measured 10.30 miles, which seemed quite a big in accuracy over the distance - though I didn't hear anyone else mention it, so maybe just me. Also the toilets were still locked 5 mins before the gun, which the organisers were doing their best to resolve, but it made for a bit of a rush. Overall though, enjoyed it and would recommend. In short: Flat, fast, great marshalls In full: Flat, fast, great support from marshalls. My only remarks are that runners have to use the park's toilets and that time chip is not available. Date of review: June 17, 2013
In short: Fast, friendly size, fluid organisation but no-frills In full: Part of an evening race series, the 5km course consisted of 2 large laps of Battersea Park, on tarmac. Set a road pb on in this race despite racing over the same distance 2 days prior so definite speed potential, comparable to the Serpie course in Hyde Park. Battersea is used for all the Sri Chinmoy London races so it could get a bit boring if you were booked in for the entire series but knowing the course is also an advantage. Friendly atmosphere yet competitive at the top end and age group medals and water/squash at the end were a nice touch for a bargain race. Great way to spend an evening, only qualm would be that some of the other park users seemed blissfully unaware of the fact there was a race on and at that time of day it's pretty busy. In short: Great race, slick organisation, good value In full: This was my first Self transcendance race, and I was not disappointed! It was the 10m on saturday morning and I loved the fact I was on the train on the way home by 10am!
Organisation was super, turned up, registered within seconds, bag drop was easy and efficient. Enough toilets for number of runners, banana and snack bar afterwards, and all for £8, can't go wrong in my book! Date of review: September 13, 2012
