In short: Very friendly low key event - ideal for any one wanting to do a long run in good company in a not too competitive environment

In short: Although i was alittle worried about where i was going i really enjoyed myself.
In full: This is the first race i did that wasn't fully marshalled, i was a little dubious about the course and thought i may get lost,i imagine myself in a heap on the side of the road crying out for my mum. But it wasn't hard to find my way, the off road and the hilly bits, i must say was a joy, i do hate it when its flat for miles and miles.

In short: Friendly & encouraging, but need mile markers & better directions!
In full: My second half-marathon and I wasn't expecting a PB given the hills/crossing roads, but I didn't expect to get lost either (even taking the map with me)! Having said that, my navigational skills are poor to dreadful, so if anyone was going to get lost, it was me.

BUT, I enjoyed the run - and absolutely LOVE the T-shirt.

The organisers were friendly and helpful, as were the other runners. And the cup of tea & cake available at the end were hugely welcome.

I'll be back again next year ... though I'll study the route harder beforehand.

In short: Hard to know where you were going in places, no mile markers
In full: As my first ever half marathon I found the lack of mile markers very demotivational. Because there were so few runners at times I was totally alone wondering if I was going in the right direction. I wasnt told to bring the paper instructions, and without these I'd have been really screwed in places. The instructions around Orpington hospital were misleading and I wasted 5-10 minutes wondering if I were supposed to be heading up towards the hospital, it wasnt until other runners caught me up that I was able to decide the right direction.
Having to cross so many busy main roads was also irritating and took time off the possible finish.
The people who supported along the way were really nice, and the fact you got a T-shirt for a race that only cost £10 to enter was generous.
In summary, some distance markers needed and increased sign posting and people on the ground to help, but overall a friendly group of people and good atmosphere at the end of the race.
