In short: Brilliant!
In full: I entered this jog as part of my training routine (with a 10k race a few days after this).

I turned up and got my free T-Shirt and the atmosphere was amazing! Live PA, cheer leaders and everyone relaxed and having a laugh!

The route was a 1.25K lap which you could do once or up to 8 times (making the 10k). As this was training, I did 6 laps which equated to 7.5k and did it in a record time!

The location was a real bonus - starting right at the centre of the Canary Wharf tower was amazing! The atmosphere going round was friendly and supportive (although the part of the lap near the waterside bar was a little intense with runners having to dodge city drinkers!)

When I finished the 6th lap - I ran to the finish and got an ace medal and then a banana and water which I thought was a nice touch (especially for a free event!)

Overall - I give the event a 10/10 and only wish I could have done the other 2 laps! Everyone was running for the BHF and was good to think so much money would be raised from such a fun event! Fab evening and looking forward to the 02 event in June!

In short: Not a race but fun event anyway
In full: Not a race as such. The event officially started at 6.30pm but you could start anytime in the few hours after that and do as many of the (very roughly)1km laps as you liked, up to 10k. Slightly disorganised at the beginning - found myself queueing to hand in my registration card when I only needed to drop the card in a bucket - clearer signs would have been helpful. There was a bottle-neck at the beginning and it was some time before I could break into a jog. There were further hold-ups along the way when the course went through pub crowds on narrow dockfronts, by the entrance to the DLR etc. On the plus side water was provided before the start, as well as on route and at the end, which a nice touch given the hot weather. The marshalls and compere on the tannoy were very jolly and there was good support from the crowds, bands and a group of cheerleaders along the way. No goody bag but a medal and a T-shirt - not bad for a free-to-enter charity event. Participants are asked to raise at least £25 as a donation to BHF and I was more than happy to contribute.

In short: Good atmosphere but bad location
In full: Unfortunately there are far too many pubs, and consequently smokers, hanging around along the route which does ruin it a bit. It also wasn't very clear where the finish line was. Congestion and crowded pubs would make a PB impossible, but it is supposed to be a walk/jog rather than a race.

The Tower of London Jog, also a BHF event, was much much better than this.

In short: Amazing atmosphere, and good fun despite the congestion!
In full: Considering I usually race for competitive reasons, I enjoyed this a lot more than I had any right to. A race with a brilliant atmosphere and smoothly run by the BHF, who also supplied a free t-shirt and medal to all finishers this year, great stuff. The course (and area) itself was pretty good considering we were in the middle of London, with a particularly nice stretch down the river. However, a word of warning - don't try this race if all you want is a 10K time. The course distance is slightly out, and congestion is hugely detrimental to going for a time.

If you'd like to just get out, have a good time and raise some money for a good cause, then go for it! I had a lot of fun when I didn't think that I would, and I can imagine that this is a great race for beginners, too.

In short: Nice run / jog around canary wharf playing dodgems with commuters
In full: A well organised event by BHF.
Low PB potential not becuase it's a tough course but because of multi-lap race causing hold-ups behind joggers/walkers and dodging commuters. This is an event for those wanting a fun event, a chance to run around the city and it's also free [from traffic].
Nice cool evening which was great considering the past few days have been scorching hot!

In short: Good cause to run for, not a good course to run in.
In full: doing lap round the block is more dull than i thought. The course is not measured accurately and I lost count the number of laps I ran (jogged) after the 4th! supposed to be 8 laps = 10km!
too many walkers after 1/2 lap. and why walk in the middle of the course when it is narrow as it was?!?!

however the event was very lively and fun.... if you don't take it too seriously!

In short: A lovely way to spend a summers evening.
In full: I really enjoyed this run! Just a lot of people out to raise money for a good cause and who cares about the time. I would say that unless I suddenly increased my best ever 10km time by over 5 mins ( in a congested twisting turning route) the distance may be a little out. We did 9 laps in less than my PB for 10 km, but hey...the whole purpose of this was fun, fun more fun and raising money. Fantastic organisation, and a real deserving cause. Whoever decided to make the restaurant just after the short down hill, pump out a lovely smell is a nasty person.....and making us pass through drinkers enjoying a glass of wine or pint or two was nasty....but thanks to the girl in the red rara skirt....made the laps pass by quite quickly. Im sure the guys will know what I mean. In all seriousness though, just a bloody good enjoyable run....with the focus on having fun. Im really glad I did it!

In short: Good atmosphere better. Better for a bit of fun than a race.
In full: Definitely a fun run, there's no timing and they encourage people to take it easy. Course was little more than 9k but had entertainment all the way round. There were the odd commuters crossing the track but it wasn't too bad. A good run for beginners but don't turn up expecting to time yourself over 10k with any kind of accuracy.

In short: good fun!!
In full: A good evening out - more of a dodge-walk-jog, than a run!! But the atmostphere was great, with friendly marshalls and live music!... the course was approx 9-10k.
