In short: Lovely scenery, friendly marshalls, will be back In full: Very scenic and predominantly through woodland, so lots of shade on a very hot day. Sponges at one of the water stations would be nice next year. Recommended - so much more fun than a road run. Date of review: August 7, 2007
In short: Great views and variety In full: A well organised event (many thanks Mr Frost). Cheerful and helpful marshals making the run really enjoyable. A good test and I look forward to having another go next year.
In short: Simulating, challenging, friendly, rewarding In full: My first real cross-country race - and I loved the friendliness and encouragement I had from other runners on a hot and challenging course. Full marks to organisers for a mostly shady run, it was only the last mile on hot road that made me really suffer. Scenery and variety to die for. Date of review: August 6, 2007
In short: Energy sapping in the heat! In full: This is a great event to test yourself with. I was forewarned about the steps so no big surprise. I was however surprised by the stream - luckily if you hit it right you don't get too wet at this early stage of the race. It is a pity it was so hot. I'm not sure I would have made it without the majority of the race having tree cover and my trusty water bottle. I had to walk a lot of the hills but don't think I lost too much time there. Great organisation and marshalling all around the trail. Date of review: August 6, 2007
In short: Heat and hills, hills and heat and more hills!! In full: Very hot and very hilly but a very enjoyable race. A big thank you to all the marshalls. Very well organised. Will be back. Date of review: August 6, 2007
In short: A challenge (especially in the heat!) In full: A well organized event with some energy sapping hills here, there and everywhere. The hottest day of the year made it just that little bit harder. All in all, a tough but enjoyable day out running!! Date of review: August 6, 2007
