In short: Not for absolute beginners
In full: Up hill mostly till 5km point then all down hill and flat.X-country style start then road through an estate then out onto good roads.
Not traffic free. Not being in a club and joining on day price was a little steep.Showers and changing rooms, food ,drinks and dj.Some parks for the kids.
Fininsh line slightly confusing in the sence you have to ask for things instead of being given then as a reward.Very well marshalled

In short: Downhill for 5K, uphill for 5K. Road and mud. Wonderful!
In full: Really fun event - if running uphill in mud for 2K can be thought of as fun :-)

Slight downhill trend for 5K and I was definitely on for a PB, but then came the hill between 5 and 7K, and the soggy leaf mould in the wood between 7 and 8K, but it was all fantastic. Heartily recommended.
Ties in with a BBQ and band at the village pub so good for a family evening too (though weather this year literally dampened the prospects!).

On the (very minor) downsides we could have done with somewhere to change other than the pub toilets, especially given its a muddy event, and the marshalls weren't as cheerful and encouraging as other runs in this neck of the woods have been... but to be fair maybe it was because they were wet and cold though!

Can't praise this event enough despite the about mini-grumps (meant more in the spirit of constructive criticism, really!). Will definitely be back next year and I'll bring my rugby boots for the hill climb :-)

In short: Challenging but fun
In full: As a relative newcomer to running (been at it for two months now!) I did wonder if this would be stretching me for a 10km having only entered previous races on purpose if there would be lots of people and I wouldn't be right at the back! I was on for my first proper PB, really enjoying myself until the hill stopped me in my tracks half way up! Lvely runthrough the woods, but I do agree that another marshall through that area would have helped. All in all though - I was thrilled with the race, whilst I didn't break any records, I did well and didn't come last!!!!

In short: great race, fun, friendly, and we all helped each other at the back!
In full: well done, we could have had more toilet facilities, and a spare marshal through the woods would have been a bonus.this is definitely one for next year too.

In short: Great race, lovely setting
In full: lovely race, people very friendly and the route was great, though that hill was most definately a lung buster! Could of done with another marshall or better signage when you went into the woods, one chap went the wrong way oops! Great idea with the biscuits and banana. I can envisgage this race being in a lot of people's diary next year!
