In short: A bit of a shambles with the marshalling. In full: Runners were all over the place and approaching me from all directions at about 8K. Apparently a marshal didn't know how to do the job properly. I went wrong too somehow. All rather useless and there were quite a lot of upset runners. One marshal had their dog lying across the course. Date of review: July 15, 2014
In short: Excellent local race on a nice scenic course In full: Very well organised event and great value for money. Stewards very friendly and motivating. The steel brass band at the headquarters were super too and their music kept everyone entertained. Will definitely do this again! Date of review: July 14, 2014
In short: Lovely local race In full: As ever this was a brilliantly organised scenic, completely off road run in the beautiful Lee Valley. Marshalls were great. The best part as always for me is running the 3k fun run with my children after the 10k. The kids love it and everyone loves seeing young children out running. Medal, tee-shirt, drink. You could even have a massage. Best 10k/fun run of the year. Date of review: July 16, 2013
In short: Cool race on a hot, hot day In full: Almost a perfect local 10k race: scenic surroundings, good organisation, a flat well-marshalled course and a lovely day. Yes the temperature was 23C at the start but I guess that's what you risk in July. Was the course a little short or was that just my Garmin being thrown out by the twists and turns? Definitely back next year - thanks Date of review: July 15, 2013
In short: An excellent race for all abilities In full: I was pleasantly surprised with this race. I did not know what to expect when I cycled up from South London to the Lee Valley. What I found was great organisation, a pretty run widing along paths through the marsh land, space to run, chip timing, a fast course (I got a PB) and lots of happy marshals.
In short: Peaceful, scenic, flat, well organised. In full: This was a fast, flat course (season's best - thank you!) and the organisation was faultless. Loads of marshalls all over the course and most were very encouraging (especially the 2 kids at about 7K). There was a very relaxed atmosphere and the route was extremely peaceful (shame some runners still want to drown out the peace or chance of a conversation by wearing iPods but that is no fault of the organisers). The steel band brightened up a dreary day and my post race bacon butty was perfect. could you put a postcode on the website for my sat nav next year though? Well done, great race. In short: Lovely scenery. In full: A great local run, very well marshalled and organised. Lovely scenery sround the Lee Valley marshes and wetlands made for an enjoyable Sunday morning 10km. Many thanks to the organisers! Date of review: May 20, 2012
In short: Excellent course & good value In full: The course winds around the Lee Valley park around Cheshunt / Waltham Abbey. Almost completely flat, one nice bridge over the lock at about 5k but nothing major. T shirt is nice, would be good to get a medal as well! Date of review: July 28, 2011
