In short: Loved the race and the camaderie in it.
In full: Was my first 10Km race and entered cos the website said it was a 'flat' course. For experienced runners - well they could say so but for a beginnier like me, I got the shock of my life. Everyone left me behind at the start and I was pretty shocked that the start was an incline too. Wasnt expecting that. Those hills were high and mighty in my eyes and it seemed as if there was an incline every km you ran. The course in my eyes were anything but 'FLAT'. LOL!! The other runners and event marshalls and spectators were really encouraging. Would I run it again. Hell Yes! LOL!! If only to beat the 86 minutes PB 10KM time I set. I would run this race over and over again. Had a great day out.

I loved the goodie bag though. Whats was wrong with the Pot Noodle? I gave mine out though. (smile)

In short: A reasonably tough course for an event seemingly aimed at newer runners. Professional feel to the event, very impressed overall except for the pot noodle!!!

In short: friendly easy race for the fun run to encourage the family.
In full: I am working hard to encourage my partners children to adopt a healthier lifestyle, they loved the run (especially the medals) but I had some serious explaining to do as to why there were pot noodles in the goody bags.... the run was great for them though, very friendly and welcoming. its useful we know our way around bluewater though as there were no directions just other lost runners to follow to the start.

In short: Hilly course with a boring flat bit at the end
In full: Like a lot of others rating this race I found this 10k very well organised, with a great atmosphere at the start. I was suprised at the amount of hills as I have recently started running again and hadnt trained for them. I still managed a PB though. The last 2k I found flat and boring and took the energy from my legs. The champion chip is an excellent idea and takes away the need to get near the front to start. I do have to add, along with the other, What was the Pot Noodle all about???

In short: My first race - set a good benchmark
In full: Wasn't sure what to expect as it was my first race. Got round in just under 1 hour so very pleased.

Guessed there would be some good hills as they had warned about the steep down hill section.

My wife was not impressed when the commentators complained that the winner had not broken the 30 minute mark as he crossed the line!

Only improvement, as has been mentioned before, directions needed from the car parks to the start area.

Off to the gym tonight, with my new t-shirt on!

In short: Flat course? Oh, and a pot noodle?!!
In full: Had to be a hill or 2 in there somewhere as the pre race guide mentioned the down bits but no mention of the ups felt like they were trying to decieve us.....
Other than that it was well organised if nothing special. Finally broke 40 mins so can't be too unhappy!

In short: Not flat as suggested. Early start made it cooler.
In full: Liked early start for run, however traffic jam at 7.10am i would prefer to avoid.

It was not as flat as suggested (no wonder not near PB) and only one water stop at 4k. Would agree with other runner who suggested water stops at 3k and 7k.

I liked the band at 8k, needed more of that.

In short: It was the number of hills that hurt !
In full: I was prepared for the steep descent just not the number of ascents !! Found the last 4K really hard going as a result but amazingly still managed a PB !!
