In short: Still wonderful!
In full: I love everything about this race, encouraging marshals all the way round, wonderful scenery and a real bargain as well. Can't wait until next year when hopefully the weather will be a little calmer!

In short: Top notch as usual!
In full: My second year and well worth the trip back. A bargin at £9 with a great medal, goody bag and mince pie. Marshalls were fabulous all the way round the windy cold course. Well done Seaford Striders!!

In short: Seaford Striders Mince Pie 10 was absolutely fabulous!
In full: Why you may ask? This beautiful race had a bit of everything- the slinky slippery grass, beautiful scenery and muddy hills. Be warned there’s one hill that is one and half miles long, which sucks the life out of your legs (actually it sucked the life out of my legs). That was when the entire field of runners took the ideal opportunity to rush pass me – drat!

The majority of Marshals were cheerful and friendly, especially the last chatty four.
On the field I enjoyed watching the lazy cows with straw in their mouths looking bemused. I was not too amused however, when I stepped on something. Muddy hell my foot did weigh a ton.

This ten mile race was tough and the freezing weather did not help matters. What I liked about this race though, was that you can feel the excitement (or was that adrenalin) in the air, which made the race so special. I was pleased I ran this race; it was last minute decision due to me feeling unwell in last few weeks and a lack of training.

After the race my muddy leg really did hurt. Maybe this old cow just needs to slow down a bit.
Nice Medal and goody bag, the Mince pie was also exceedingly good.

Well done Seaford Striders, it was a great race and another RUNNER'S WORLD favourite for 2010.
Just one minor criticism though- my running club was ... (check my application form).

In short: Sticky mud, steep hills. Very good atmosphere and friendly field of runners.
In full: This run just gets better and better. I don't know why this year's times were so much better than last year - I had hoped that 72 minutes would see me closing in on the top 15!
The very steep hill at 6 miles was just as bad as I remembered it.
Not a run for a first-timer, but for anyone wanting a multi-terrain challenge just before Christmas, in beautiful countryside, this run takes some beating!

In short: Excellent pre-christmas race!
In full: A well organised race from Seaford Striders. The hill was a killer and the mud made the feet heavy but the views were amazing and the goodie bag fabulous. Will be doing it again.

In short: Yay - I won a spot prize too!!!
In full: In the route description, sections of the route were described as "slightly uphill" - hmmm don't think there was anything "slightly uphill" about it - at least not according to my legs which were soon complaining. So I was dreading the "steep section" which was at mile 6 - needless to say that was "steep" - infact very steep....... my only consolation was at least I was going slightly faster than people who were walking up it.

The views were amazing, and with the sun shining and the sky blue - it looked great. Definitely a great day for a run.

The last "mile" seemed to go on and on - my Garmin bleeped to say mile 10 had been and gone - but still the leisure centre and the finish was still no nearer. At last I could see the finish line and with one final sprint reached it - and was very chuffed to have a "spot prize" notice pushed into my hand. Now I would like to think it was due to my impressive sprint at the end of a 10 mile race, however I have a sneaking feeling it was more to do with the fact that I was covered head to toe in mud - due to a spectactular mud bath dive that I had taken at just after mile 8 - and the amusement factor that I subsequently caused to anyone who saw me....

Thank you to Seaford Striders for organising an excellent event - the marshalls for being so supportive and encouraging (especially after I had fallen) and the excellent goodie bag and medal (even if it was different to my hubbie's who finished much higher up the table than me).
