In short: That hill at the start was silly, but OK after that. Some hills, but OK for beginners with plenty training.

In short: Lovely course, shame about the start
In full: The course was lovely, I didnt find the hills too bad, but I am a slower runner. The start was awful, far too narrow, and it was impossible to pass resulting in a slow first kilometre. SO it may not be PB material. There were also some muddy bits on grass that were quite slippery sometime in the first third to half of the course.

But it was a lovely course, great scenary. Marshalls fabulous, and a great downhill bit between 8 and 9.50 kilometres. The finish was friendly too, and a good atmosphere.

I believe the course was altered this year because of roadworks, and maybe this didnt help the start. I would definitely do it again despite the poor start.

In short: A hilly outing - not for the faint hearted
In full: Best bits were the scenery and the busy, but friendly atmosphere. As one local resident said to me, smiling - "I didn't know there were so many people who lived in Goring !". The course is quite tough with some long hills - never PB material - but enough to challenge most runners.

Minor niggles were the cramped, hilly start that compressed the field early on - and a poorly defined finish.

In short: Friendly, Hilly, but not a great finish.
In full: The weather was ideal for race day, though recent rain made the off road sections really muddy. The start line was really confusing, with so many people tripping over each other to get from the scout hut to the road, but once we got going the herd spread out nicely, and the scenery was lovely. My one frustration was the finish. Despite friendly and helpful marshalls, the finish ended along a very narrow alley that forced us to run single file. I ended up in a slow queue of 5 runners, and couldn't pass. So rather than finishing strong, I was stumbling around the final corner fighting to move faster. That being said, there was some significant road works in the area, so I understand that this affected the course. I would come back, but pray for a better route next year.

In short: an excellent varied race with inclines, declines, staights, bends mostly on but some off road.
In full: Agree with other commentators about loos etc but most worrying was that having looked at the results I appear to have managed a sex change during the race and in my new form wasn't able to record a time worth noting!

In short: An Undulating Challenge!
In full: This was my first 10k and I really enjoyed it! Coming from flat East Anglia, the hills were a real challenge, I think undulating was a bit of an underestimate! The support was good and the scenery was really nice which helped take my mind off the hills!
My only suggestions for improvement would be a few more loos (I queued for 20 mins) and some guidance on where to start for different paces(I overtook a lot of people and I'm not particularly fast). Perhaps starting the race 50m further forward would stop the congetion between the scout hall and the start line.
Having said this, I appreciate how much hard work goes into organising a race, so well done to the organisers as despite these things I really enjoyed myself and will definitely be back next year!

In short: not a great start to the running calender for me
In full: Having read reviews already posted I don't think I can add a great deal more .Very dissapointing this year ,start -too crowded, finish too chaotic, even a bit dangerous in places ,I had a tangle of legs at 2kish and just managed to catch a girl from falling -circumstances beyond the organizers control I know -I'll return ..but only for the original course

In short: Great scenery, challenging hills but friendly atmosphere
In full: Marshelling to car parks and during the race was great, unfortunately the start was a bit messy with not enough loos causing long queues and not enough space to line up!! the lane up over the start hill wasn't good as people were tripping over each other but once you got past the first kilometre the race is brilliant with great views and challenging hills. The finish was disappointing and not clearly marked as you came to the bottom of the hill but I realise the organisers were having to cope with a changed route this year.

In short: Bad start and bad finish. Middle bit was testing
In full: Given this years race restrictions due to bridge works, the organisers were under obvious pressure to carve out a half decent race. Both the start and finish were far from ideal and sections of what was really a multi terrain course were marred by soft ground and mud. I may comeback but only if the race reverts back to its original format.
