In short: Off road, hilly and challenging terrain; well marshalled and signed
In full: Loved this race, a proper little gem, and oh so reasonably priced. The hills did for me, really, but running around and through fields (luckily dry, or I'd have had even more trouble!) was a real pleasure, and glorious in the September sun.

In short: Great alternative to a Sunday long run
In full: Well organised, nice countryside, excellent signing on the paths and complimentary lovely home made cakes, tea and orange juice at the finish.
Well done Royston Runners.

In short: Was looking for a testing 10 - and got one!
In full: First time here, great race, really enjoyed it, despite the course being such hard work.

Being given course directions at registration was fun though not needed as sufficient marshals and/or direction arrows. Free tea and cake at the end v welcome. Back next year!

In short: Enjoyable first trail race
In full: Well organised trail run. Friendly atmosphere. Hilly in parts. Could have used a couple of mile markers to judge pace.

In short: For a new trail runner it was tough!
In full: After the first two miles all the things I'd read about trail running came flooding back - it is MUCH tougher than on the road.
A good introduction - something to build on.
Well organised and friendly atmosphere. Good shower facilities too.
We had the last great weather of the summer too so a very good day all round.

In short: A good fast trail ace with a good feel about it
In full: For a trail race this was quite a fast course. Underfoot was good most places hard packed and well trodden. No mud and only one serious short steep climb. A good introduction to trail racing. A good setting with an excellent club house food/drink/showers ect. This race has a good feel about it and i had a dreadful run!

In short: Beautiful scenery, very friendly race
In full: Very 'un-competitive' run, refreshingly so - everyone very friendly. List of directions you are given at the start was a little daunting but there were plenty of Royston Runners to follow along the way! Great route, good vibe, lovely refreshments at end. An uplifting day out!
