In short: maybe involve a pub stop next time
In full: over enthusiasm meant i was last runner off. didn't really like holding the last man baton so went off far to quick. managed to get rid of it by the end though, result

In short: Really friendly and great fun!
In full: I am a huge convert to this type of handicap race because I won!! Still can't believe it! Great course, great marshalls. Horrible steps...

In short: Friendly, Fun and Flat (apart from the steps!)
In full: Although I knew that it was a handicap race I wasnt expecting to start running 40 minutes afer the first runner, although this added to the fun of the event. It was a nice run along the canal and the marshals were great. The steps coming back up from the canal and up onto the track practically stopped my legs from being able to take another step, but it was great finishing on the track. Still have no clue as to what time I ran and will have to wait till the results go up online!

In short: Hilarious!! Haven't a clue what was going on!! Briliant!
In full: I haven't had that much fun at a race ever! I couldn't run at first for laughing - the staggered start meant we were meant to go off in timed order - they forgot me and I started 5 mins late amid much hilarity. The lovely course round the fantastic Birmingham canals was superb - the funniest part was the people in the open air cafes and pubs - "make mine a pint and a bag of wotsits!"

Fantastic fun - a must for everyone , don't miss this next year best £3.50 I've ever spent!

In short: Good fun...and cheap
In full: I'm a big fan of anything mid-week, so this was a winner before I'd even arrived. At £3, it was a bargain, and the handicap format was very novel.

With just a tiny bit more organisation, I think it would have been great. All it needed was a better announcement at the start, telling people about the route and the existence of marshalls/signposts. I did actually set off with no idea of either so it could have gone very wrong!

In short: A really nice event
In full: A great, well organised event. A very friendly atmosphere, really good that you can choose the 5k or 10k and still have everybody there at the finish.

In short: Thoroughly enjoyable & great value
In full: There should be more events like this on the calendar. Very well organised with ample parking, channging & shower facilities. Other towpath users seemed bemused & reasonably respectful. Can we have stairlifts installed at the steps in future?

In short: novel idea for a race and good fun too!
In full: really good idea for a run... staggered start from a a time that you submit pre-race, so technically everyone should finish at the same time!
was a very warm day, and there's no water stations, but it's a lovely small (as in people)run - was about 50 folks there this year. route is flat apart from steps down to the canal path and a bit about gas street basin - fun running round there though, and you could always stop off for a pint if you needed one!!!

very friendly bunch of runners, and the thing is, it's not the fastest who wins, but the one closest to their predicted time... so anyone has a chance.

great fun - will be back next year.
