In short: I Raided the Ropsley Half Mararhon (13 .7 mile) Challenge!!!
In full: Wel what can I say regarding this event in comparison to other reviews? Very very challenging and not for the faint hearted!!! I have a coup,e of half marathon runs under my belt which I found invaluable to enable me to complete this tough challenge! To start off with it was very cold and running through the fields which felt like you were going to twist your ankles and had to be very careful as well as trying to keep your pace going. Yes it was a major sense of achievement when I completed it!

I would definitely do it again! The organizations were very good but was directed on a couple of occasions by the regular Ropsley runners that were very helpful giving a lot of encouragement and making sure that you are heading in the right directions.

The goody bag was very good but the only downside dare I say it was the showers! and decided to head back home!

However I would do this event and was great as I plan to do the St Valentines 30k (18 miles) in a few weeks and then the Edingburgh Marathon in May so it's all helping with the training regime!

So if you want a challenge anyone do the Ropsley Half Marathon but please make sure you have a couple of half marathons on your belt!!!!!!!!!

In short: Great Day for a Great Race
In full: A great day for a great race!
Frost and bitterly cold temperatures at the start made the terrain challenging, but the desire to concore the race was evident in ALL runners and walkers. With plenty of plesent views and I understand 19 stiles it was a joy to be part of strangely enough, Thanks to Steve and team for a great race!!!

In short: Loved it, luckily for us all the fields were frozen solid so no mud. Challenging race as it was a lot off road, I loved it, there were biscuits, cakes and drinks. Well organised!!

In short: Tough and Challenging
In full: This is the first time we had done this race and having read the reviews from previous years, this was one of the toughest halfs i have done.

Coming from Sheffield, we are mainly road runners so the fields were tougher than expected (believe the reviews, there are loads of them and you're feet get really heavy)

The wind also added to the challenge.

For a small village the organisation was great and the water stations and cake stall along the way were well positioned.

No mile markers - for a first timer i don't know whether this helped or not. Lets just say that the sign saying "Ropsley" made us realise we were nearly home.

Nice goody bag at the end and results posted onto the website in a few days.

Would possibly do again, it's a fair drive from Sheffield but won't say never again.

In short: Excellent race as usual from Ropsley Road runners.
In full: I did the 6 mile option and found it well marked. My only moan is the out and back road section in the middle but it wouldn't stop me coming back again next year.

In short: A tough but very enjoyable run in the Lincolnshire countryside
In full: This was a lovely event to take part with a friendly & welcoming atmosphere. I thoroughly enjoyed taking part in the 13.6 mile route, even though the muddy fields took some negotiating. Fantastis even for such a small ogansing club. Well done Ropsley Road Runners...especially for the more than generous goody bag...... Inspired idea giving a hat & a pair of gloves to all the finishers!
