In short: Not amazing scenery and a bit clubby, but the crowd were very friendly, the course challenging but not too hard - overall, well worth a go...

In short: Not too hilly with nice trail sections though can rather muddy after rain
In full: A decent semi-rural course, especially considering how close it is to north Manchester. A reasonably flat race with most of the climbing is over the first couple of miles, though the ascents are mainly on road and not too demanding. Certainly worth doing with some PB potential.

In short: Few challenging climbs but great marshalls and organisation
In full: Not the greatest scenery through the housing estates but the marshalls were very supportive and the organisation was faultless. Plus for your entry fee you got a t-shirt, energy gel and a trainer bag.

In short: Hills on a hot day!
In full: My first time at this one (I'm usually on holiday). This is mainly an up and down course, but I couldn't seem to make up the time in the second half - in spite of the favourable gradient. A fairly good race though and I'd like to have a go at it on a cooler day.

In short: Hard work but enjoyable run
In full: As a beginner I found it quite difficult but the friendliness of the marshalls encouraged me to continue. Will definitely be back next year.

In short: Challenging course, especially in hot weather! Felt good coming down the back 5km after a tough uphill first 5km. Friendly atmosphere, recommend giving it a go. .
