In full: All in all a good race and one worth doing for the scenery alone and the quietness of the roads. Its fair to say that if you are not prepared the initial 5k can take you by surprise with 2 hills after the first mile very challenging. Once 5k completed you can pace out on flat roads with a few downhill efforts. In some ways this race is the opposite of the Cobra Classic in Halesowen where the second 5k contains some challenging hills. If i had a slight criticism the toilet facilities arent particularly good and if the school caretaker hadnt opened up the school changing rooms there would have been a queue around the car park. This aside its a race well worth doing.

In short: A touch one from a beginner's point of view. More like mountaineering in some places.
In full: This was my second 10k race. As a beginner I’d rate is as the road version of the Stourbridge Stumble- and that was tough! A somewhat uneven distribution of the hilly parts - running up until you just can’t run anymore (someone compared it to mountaineering!), then comes the 6km and it’s a mad dash downhill till the finish. Beautiful scenery, I couldn’t resist taking photos and will definitely do it again but... it does require a bit of hill run training to really enjoy it without the pain. Great marshals, many thanks for the cheers and for the photo posing :o)
I really wish I went away with a medal after this one. What an effort!

In short: very good, well organised challenging10k
In full: Well organised 10K and a good local turn out this year. The course is takes a challenging hilly route on a loop out from Kinver. The 2 big hills in the first 4K are tough with a few choosing to walk rather than run. Very scenic route along lanes and back into the town which is mostly down hill (though the last little bump always catches me out!)

A request for 2012 - can we have more toilets please! (I nearly missed the start as there was still a big queue at 9:50)

In short: UP UP AND UP!!!
In full: I knew it was going to be a hilly first 5k but i was not expecting to be up in the clouds, that said second half was as quick as you wanted to make it with a decent crowd waiting at the finish.cheery marshalls and decent scenery made it worth the trip medal would have been nice but t shirt is quite decent.

In short: Fun, Friendly, lots of uphills but lots of downhills too! Loved it!
In full: Great atmosphere and for a good cause too, yes there are lots of hills but look at the scenery instead of your feet, great downhill stretch after half way, plenty smiles at the end.

In short: Very Hilly
In full: Its starts uphill and there is not much respite for the next 5k with 2 killer sections at about 2.5 and 4K. Still once you've got over these its then mainly downhill for the second 5k. Scenic route on quiet roads, great marshals but not much chance of a PB.
More toliets nearer the start would be appeciated!

In short: Hills hills hills. And sheep.
In full: Last year I said I wasn't doing it again, but I'm glad I came back. The uphill first half has some difficult climbs. I kept running but at times my steps were so small that I was barely going faster than the walkers. Great leg stretch of a race though, definitely worth waking up for. Relaxed organisation. Nice t-shirts.
