In short: Hard
In full: My first fell run and boy was i in for a shock, 3.5 miles felt like 100. The climb up was nothing compared to the descent down, with a literal drop from the summit. That said i enjoyed it a great deal, and will definatly be doing it again in 2012

In short: Excellent, a classic fell race. Straight up and down.
In full: 3 time run, best time by 5 seconds. Descending or controlled falling is the key.

In short: Fantastic First Fell Race
In full: As we approached Brecon the rain was incessant, not the best start to my first Fell Race. By the time we got to the start the mountain gods smiled on us and we were basking in sunshine.

The route was hard and if I'm honest harder than I expected even though I have previously done lots of hill walking.

I knew that I would lose time on the descent compared to experienced runners, I hadn't realised just how hard on the legs it would be or for that matter, my backside!! I did slip a few times but this just added to the fun.

The organisation was simple but very good and very welcoming. They take lots of photo's that they post for you to download should you wish and home made flapjacks at the end.

Before the race started I looked at the race times for the previous three years that they had posted at the registration tent, last year's slowest time just over 1.5hrs. Hmmm I thought, if I managed that I'd be happy. I actually did it it 1hr 5mins, came last but really didn't care, it was a fantastic day and I hope to progress to do this and Fan y Big next year.

If you're thinking about it - do it
