In short: This was a bit of a con to be listed as a race without caveats, as there was no official timing or placingg
In full: Useful as a competition exercise, but not a proper race as one had to records one's own time by means of one's watch or a by noting the reading on the large timer beside the start/finish. Further to the lack of timekeeping there was no categorisation or record of finishers and their places. Although marked at every kilometer, there were some very tight turns in a winding course through Finsbury Park. I feel the limitations should have been advertised in the race information on the website and elsewhere.

In short: Great atmosphere, shame about the hills!
In full: Great event, my first 10k. Thought it was an interesting course, shame that it was a bit hilly! Well organised and friendly.

In short: Very well organised and marshalled considering it was taking place in a busy park

In full: well organised and upbeat but too few entrants to make much of an atmosphere. With more people it would be really fun - I think the sponsorship put a lot of people off.

In short: A Solid 'Race'.
In full: Not really fair to term it a race, more of a run around Finsbury Park. Time keeping would have been welcome, as would race numbers. Still, very good value- for £10 I received a t-shirt, running vest, 3 bottles of water, some confectionery and a medal too. The atmosphere at the start was pleasant but the run itself was quiet- I found the marshals encouraging, particularly the man at 2/7km (I think that's where he was, by the gazebo), although I did also pass the guy reading the book at 6km.
The only reason my scores dip for PB rating and beginner friendliness are the hills, but who doesn't love a challenge?!
I'd do it again, but more competitive races would take priority if I had a choice.

In short: Quite a nice run - even if hilly and warm!
In full: I have done some races in Finsbury Park and I still don't know if I liked this one or not. The route was very different, zigzagging through the park which meant more hills. But it was a nice atmosphere, marshalls were very supportive. Overall a good race (even though they didn't provide for chip timing).

In short: Rating for 2009 - coulnt enter correct year!!!
In full: No recording of times? Totally unacceptable in my opinion. Not a race at all. The good points? Friendly people, an interesting windy route, a nice goody bag and a usable tech vest. The worst thing about the race? The marshalls. I always appreciate a good marshall but tghese lot were the worst ever. Stood at the wrong positions. 2 or 3 in some places and none in crucial positions. 5 of us went wrong at one point with the marshall gone AWOL. One guy sat reading a book-may as well have been reading it at home and a lack of verbal and non verbal commands- may as well have been cardboard cut outs. As another competitor said "Rubbish" and " This is Botox(or something simular!!!)

In short: My first 5k - a great first race. Good warm up, goody bag and medal. Shame about the lack of timing, unclear finish and slightly short distance (my Garmin said 3 miles exactly)
