In short: Well organised, friendly & flipping hot. Nice course, well marshalled. Lovely original trophy. In full: This race might benefit from a slightly earlier start time to avoid the mid day heat. Date of review: July 25, 2008
In short: Do it every year and always a good challenge In full: Relatively flat course with no real challenging hills. Always run at 11am in the middle of summer so not yet known it to be anything other than scorching. Organisation is fine. Has a local runners feel which appeals to me as a casual runner. Will continue to come back as long as it is run. Date of review: July 19, 2008
In short: lovely In full: 2nd 10k I've done, got under 50 mins (48.59) so really pleased. Great course, clearly pretty quick, no serious undulations. Great finish with a big clock and a proper finishing line with lots of support. Definitely a good one for novices. They need to stream the start though. Date of review: July 15, 2008
In short: A very pleasant way to spend a morning. In full: A well-organised race with three drinks stations in 10K, which are a godsend when the weather is hot. 2008 was pleasantly warm. This course does have some PB potential, but that is reduced by the fact that it is held in July, and the undulations in the second half can prove tough if you set off too fast.
Although not held on a traffic free course, some of the roads are so lightly used that meeting a car is unusual at any time of day, let alone on a Sunday morning. Added to that, Spendiff is so tiny that most of the locals do not know of its existence! Date of review: July 14, 2008
